(1) Donate
Defence Team members can donate to the NDWCC online using ePledge, which is a secure, convenient (web based, mobile friendly) and simple way to give. Check it out here 🡪 https://uwco.ca/gcwcc/donate. For instructions on using ePledge, visit https://tridentnewspaper.com/ndwcc2024/ndwcc-qa/.
(2) Plan or support a fundraising event
Are you or your unit planning an NDWCC fundraising event that is open to all local Defence Team members? You can use this NDWCC Unit Event Submission Form to submit your event to be included in the Halifax and Shearwater region NDWCC Weekly Update which will be distributed each Monday during the campaign via Base-wide email, CFB Halifax social media channels, and posted to the Trident NDWCC website. Email event submission forms to NDWCCHalifax@forces.gc.ca and keep an eye out for events you might want to attend!
(3) Talk to your unit canvasser
Keep an eye out for your local canvassers and campaign ambassadors who will continue making their rounds through local units until the end of the campaign season. They are happy to answer any questions you may have and help you in any way they can.
(4) Volunteer for a Day of Caring activity
Days of Caring are United Way Halifax initiatives that pair community volunteers with charitable organizations who are seeking assistance. Each year as part of the Halifax and Shearwater region NDWCC, United Way Halifax matches Defence Team volunteers with hands-on projects throughout the local community. To get involved with upcoming Days of Caring, contact your NDWCC Unit Coordinator.
(5) Educate yourself
Visit our Resources page and research United Way/HealthPartners-supported charities or any registered Canadian charity of your choosing. Look through credible, online news sources and websites to learn more about issues affecting your community.
(6) Spread the word
Email or text this website to your friends in Defence so that they know where to find information on this year’s Halifax and Shearwater region campaign. Follow CFB Halifax on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and share NDWCC content that’s posted to those platforms. Talk to your friends and colleagues about the campaign – you might inspire someone else to give!
