1. What is the NDWCC? The National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC) provides Defence Team members with a direct line to donate to over 86,000 charities, including numerous organizations with strong ties to Canada’s military. Throughout this annual campaign, public servants can support United Way, HealthPartners or any other registered Canadian charity of their choosing. The Halifax and Shearwater region campaign will run from September 9 – December 13, 2024.
2. What is the 2024 campaign slogan and theme? This year’s NDWCC slogan is ‘Take Flight for Good’. The slogan was chosen to help remind us that that if we work together to achieve our goals, we can “fly together” while helping to improve our community.
3. How can members donate/participate? Strong Defence Team participation is highly encouraged and is imperative to the success of the 2024 NDWCC. Defence Team members in the Halifax and Shearwater region, both military and civilian, are encouraged to participate in any way they can. Whether planning an in-person or virtual event or participating in a fundraiser; donating through ePledge; or volunteering with a local charitable organization, each individual contribution matters. For online fundraising ideas, ePledging instructions and more, visit https://tridentnewspaper.com/ndwcc2024/ndwcc-get-involved/.
4. What is ePledge? ePledge is a secure, convenient (web based & mobile friendly) and simple way you can donate through payroll deduction, credit card, or PayPal. When you use ePledge, you can choose the charity/charities to which you’d like to donate from a Canadian registered charity drop-down menu. You can set up monthly deductions from your paycheque and will receive an immediate emailed confirmation of your gift. Using ePledge also ensures that you automatically receive a tax receipt for whatever way you choose to contribute.

7. What local and national health/social/community issues should I consider when deciding how to donate? Everyone gives for a reason. Maybe you or someone you love has been affected by cancer. By donating to the NDWCC, your contribution will power a whole network of compassion and community supports for those who need it most.
