The weather wasn’t cooperative, but members of Maritime Forces Atlantic still showed out on April 15 for the first Fleet Run of the season across HMC Dockyard and onto the Halifax waterfront. 

Prime Minister Mark Carney and Minister of National Defence David McGuinty visited HMCS Margaret Brooke in Halifax on March 26, where the ship served as the backdrop for an announcement of more than $2 billion in new defence spending for Nova Scotia.

His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Frédérick Rolette conducts Cold Weather Trials and Ice Operations Training in the Northumberland Straight in late February. The ship paused for photos before passing under the Prince Edward Island Confederation Bridge alongside sister ship HMCS Robert Hampton Gray.

Members at 12 Wing Shearwater said goodbye to their Christmas trees in style on January 22 during a Wing bonfire. Firefighters from Shearwater Fire and Emergency Services were on hand to ensure the burn was safe and contained at all times.
