Are you or your unit planning an NDWCC fundraising event that is open to all local Defence Team members? You can use this form to submit your event to be included in the Halifax Region NDWCC Weekly Update which will be distributed each Monday during the campaign via Base-wide email, CFB Halifax social media channels, and posted to the Trident NDWCC website. Email event submission forms to NDWCCHalifax@forces.gc.ca and keep an eye out for events you might want to attend!
Bring Your Dog to Work Day
October 28 & November 25
CFB Halifax is hosting two Bring Your Dog to Work Days in support of the Halifax Region NDWCC. We encourage all Defence Team members looking to participate in this event to refamiliarize themselves with the rules to ensure everyone has an enjoyable day.
RULES
Prior to Bring Your Dog to Work Day
- Obtain your supervisor approval *this is VERY important and mandatory!
- Ensure your coworkers are comfortable with you bringing a dog, especially in a shared workplace
- Pet-proof your office, where necessary, including limiting access to hazards, fragile items, and technical equipment
- No dogs in hazardous workspaces
On Bring Your Dog to Work Day
- Limit of one dog per person
- Come to work prepared: bring doggie bags, treats, water bowl, and whatever else your pet requires for the day
- Always supervise and clean up after your dog
- Dogs must be on leash while on CFB Halifax grounds
- No aggressive behaviour (dogs must be comfortable around people and other animals)
Donation: $10 (cash only) to be passed along directly to your NDWCC Unit Representative.
CFB Halifax would love to see photos of local Defence Team members at work with their pups. If you are interested in sharing your photos on CFB Halifax social media, please send them to cfbhalifaxpublicaffairs@forces.gc.ca by 12 p.m. (Atlantic) on October 28.
NDWCC Self-guided Paranormal Tours at the Naval Museum of Halifax
October 31, November 7, and November 14
Join us for three nights only for a chance to encounter the spirits of Admiralty House (now the Naval Museum of Halifax). The evening will begin with an introduction to the building and the museum in general, a chance to meet museum staff who have had paranormal experiences, followed by a self-guided audio tour which will explore the lives and stories of the sprits that still reside in old Admiralty House.
When: October 31, November 7, and November 14 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: Admiralty House/Naval Museum of Halifax (building S20)
25-person limit per night.
$10 donation per person. Cash only.

NDWCC Escape Room
November 4 to December 16
When: November 4 to December 16
Where: St. Brendan’s Chapel (Building S7)
The wedding bells are ringing at CFB Halifax with an all new #NDWCC Escape Room, running from November 4 to December 16, at St. Brendan’s Chapel (Stadacona Building S7, 2710 Admirals Way).
Gather your eight-person team and get ready to solve puzzles and help the NearlyWeds get to the altar during one of our three daily one-hour games at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., or 1 p.m. (excluding Friday afternoons).
Cost is $20 per person, eight people per team. If your team is smaller than eight people, you might be combined with another small team for the purposes of the game. Non-Defence Team members (ages 18 +) such as family and friends are also welcome to play.

12 Wing NDWCC Curling Funspiel
November 7
When: November 7, sign-in at 7:30 a.m.
Where: CFB Halifax Curling Club (6441 Hawk Terrace, Halifax)
$100 per team of four. Cash donation only.
Teams will play from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Top 12 teams will advance to playoffs at 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

EX Dirty Hands Tire Swap

It’s almost that time of the year again! The Base Logistics TEME Division will be hosting its annual EX Dirty Hands Seasonal Tire Swap event during which you can book a tire change for your personal vehicle to help you prepare for the colder temperatures.
