The Every Child Matters flag was raised at CFB Halifax and within the fleet ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The Atlantic Defence Aboriginal Advisory Group, in conjunction with Elder Debbie Eisan, Honorary Captain(N), and the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre, held a smudging ceremony and witnessed a wonderful performance by the drum group, Mothers of Knokomis.
The Atlantic Defence Aboriginal Advisory Group and the Defence Team wear orange to honour residential school survivors, their families, and communities in support of the reconciliation and healing process.
