C\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e chaque ann\u00e9e, cette journ\u00e9e comm\u00e9morative vise \u00e0 lutter contre les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s, les injustices et les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s raciaux, \u00e0 mieux faire conna\u00eetre l\u2019histoire et le v\u00e9cu des groupes racis\u00e9s et \u00e0 favoriser un dialogue constructif et la prise de mesures en faveur de la diversit\u00e9, de l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 et de l\u2019inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>C\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e le 21\u00a0mars partout dans le monde, la JIEDR comm\u00e9more le jour o\u00f9 69\u00a0personnes ont perdu la vie aux mains de la police \u00e0 Sharpeville, en Afrique du Sud, lors d\u2019une manifestation pacifique contre les \u00ab\u2009lois limitant la mobilit\u00e9 des Noirs\u2009\u00bb impos\u00e9es par l\u2019apartheid, en 1960. C\u2019est une journ\u00e9e pour r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir aux progr\u00e8s accomplis en mati\u00e8re de justice raciale, mais aussi pour reconna\u00eetre que les peuples autochtones, les personnes racis\u00e9es et les minorit\u00e9s religieuses continuent d\u2019\u00eatre victimes du racisme et de la discrimination raciale au quotidien. C\u2019est \u00e9galement l\u2019occasion de redoubler d\u2019efforts pour assurer un milieu respectueux et \u00e9quitable pour tous.<\/p>\n<p>Faire la promotion d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements comm\u00e9moratifs ax\u00e9s sur l\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9, tels que la JIEDR, permet de mieux faire conna\u00eetre la diversit\u00e9 des cultures, des exp\u00e9riences et des points de vue au sein de l\u2019\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense, et je suis honor\u00e9 de participer \u00e0 ce dialogue, en tant que champion du Groupe consultatif des minorit\u00e9s visibles de la D\u00e9fense (GCMVD) des FMAR(A), mais aussi en tant que membre de l\u2019\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense. Comme champion du GCMVD, je suis conscient du privil\u00e8ge inh\u00e9rent \u00e0 mon statut de personne n\u2019appartenant pas \u00e0 un groupe racis\u00e9 et je comprends que je ne peux pas aborder les questions li\u00e9es \u00e0 la discrimination raciale \u00e0 partir d\u2019une exp\u00e9rience v\u00e9cue. C\u2019est pourquoi je me fie continuellement aux conseils (et aux enseignements) des copr\u00e9sidents de notre GCMVD, Rene Gannon et le Mat 1 Saif Morsy, et de nos membres qui soutiennent la direction en parlant de l\u2019histoire, des pr\u00e9occupations et des r\u00e9alit\u00e9s des membres de l\u2019\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense qui sont victimes du racisme et de la discrimination raciale.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"OLE_LINK43\"><\/a>Comme l\u2019ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 mes pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseurs, pour lutter contre la discrimination raciale sous toutes ses formes, il est essentiel que la communaut\u00e9 de la D\u00e9fense \u00e9coute, apprenne et agisse, \u00e0 la fois collectivement et individuellement. Le 21\u00a0mars, et tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e, il est important d\u2019\u00e9couter ceux qui t\u00e9moignent de leur exp\u00e9rience du racisme, sans porter de jugement ni avoir d\u2019attentes, et de comprendre la dynamique des pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s et des privil\u00e8ges qui entrent en jeu. Exprimez\u2011vous si vous \u00eates t\u00e9moin d\u2019un acte de discrimination raciale au travail ou dans votre communaut\u00e9 et soutenez les personnes qui pourraient faire appel \u00e0 vous quand elles sont confront\u00e9es \u00e0 un comportement discriminatoire. Prenez le temps de vous informer en consultant du contenu offrant un large \u00e9ventail de perspectives et d\u2019exp\u00e9riences. Par exemple, vous pouvez en savoir plus sur l\u2019\u00e9quipe du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/fr\/ministere-defense-nationale\/organisation\/structure-organisationnelle\/chef-conduite-professionnelle-culture.html\">chef \u2013 Conduite professionnelle et culture<\/a> et sur le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/canadian-heritage\/campaigns\/federal-anti-racism-secretariat.html\">Secr\u00e9tariat f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de lutte contre le racisme<\/a>; suivre des cours de perfectionnement, \u00e9couter des balados et vous inscrire \u00e0 des cours offerts par <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csps-efpc.gc.ca\/index-fra.aspx\">l\u2019\u00c9cole de la fonction publique du Canada<\/a>; participer \u00e0 des activit\u00e9s et des ateliers organis\u00e9s par le GCMVD.<\/p>\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui, le 21\u00a0mars, est une excellente journ\u00e9e pour participer \u00e0 une activit\u00e9 sp\u00e9ciale qui aura lieu ici, \u00e0 la BFC Halifax pour souligner la JIEDR. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une table ronde et d\u2019une activit\u00e9 de r\u00e9seautage organis\u00e9es par le GCMVD des FMAR(A) en partenariat avec le Bureau de l\u2019engagement des partenaires strat\u00e9giques de l\u2019Est du Canada du minist\u00e8re de la D\u00e9fense nationale (MDN). Cette activit\u00e9 portera sur les strat\u00e9gies en mati\u00e8re de lutte contre le racisme, d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9, de diversit\u00e9 et d\u2019inclusion actuellement mises de l\u2019avant et \u00e9labor\u00e9es au sein du MDN et des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC); sur les le\u00e7ons retenues et mises en \u0153uvre en r\u00e9ponse au <a href=\"https:\/\/publications.gc.ca\/collections\/collection_2022\/mdn-dnd\/D2-613-2022-fra.pdf\">Groupe consultatif de la ministre de la D\u00e9fense nationale sur le racisme syst\u00e9mique et la discrimination<\/a>; sur la fa\u00e7on dont le MDN et les FAC peuvent favoriser le changement de syst\u00e8me et \u00e9tablir des liens communautaires plus solides afin d\u2019\u00eatre un employeur de choix pour les candidats issus de la diversit\u00e9. Elle aura lieu de 13\u00a0h \u00e0 15\u00a0h (Atlantique) dans la salle de bal de la tour Juno. Il sera possible d\u2019y assister en personne ou en ligne. Pour ce qui est des questions de racisme et de discrimination raciale, j\u2019encourage les membres militaires et civils de l\u2019\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense \u00e0 se renseigner sur le GCMVD des FMAR(A) (<a href=\"mailto:Halifax.DVMAG@forces.gc.ca\">Halifax.DVMAG@forces.gc.ca<\/a>) et sur le Groupe consultatif des Autochtones de la D\u00e9fense de l\u2019Atlantique (GCADA) (<a href=\"mailto:Halifax.DAAG@forces.gc.ca\">Halifax.DAAG@forces.gc.ca<\/a>). Tous les membres de l\u2019\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 participer \u00e0 l\u2019un des cinq GCDs. Vous n\u2019avez pas besoin d\u2019\u00eatre associ\u00e9 \u00e0 un GCD en particulier pour \u00eatre un membre actif. Tous les membres de l\u2019\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 devenir membres moyennant l\u2019autorisation de leur superviseur\/cha\u00eene de commandement. Plus il y a de participants aux GCD \u00e0 la base, mieux c\u2019est, car nous b\u00e9n\u00e9ficions tous d\u2019un milieu de travail inclusif, o\u00f9 r\u00e8gnent le respect et la confiance.
