Le d\u00e9tachement du Centre de recrutement des Forces canadiennes d'Halifax a organis\u00e9 un certain nombre d'activit\u00e9s uniques le 8 mars pour marquer la Journ\u00e9e internationale de la femme, avec une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d'enr\u00f4lement, des honneurs et des r\u00e9compenses, des entrevues avec des candidates, et plus encore, toutes destin\u00e9es \u00e0 mettre en \u00e9vidence les possibilit\u00e9s offertes aux femmes dans les Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le d\u00e9tachement du CRFC Halifax a \u00e9galement profit\u00e9 de l'occasion pour rendre hommage \u00e0 certains de ses membres en service, dont la Cpl Bridget O\u2019Donnell, que l'on voit ici, qui a re\u00e7u sa D\u00e9coration des Forces canadiennes. \n

Le point culminant de la journ\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 l'accueil de quatre nouveaux membres au sein de la famille des FAC. Bien que les c\u00e9r\u00e9monies d'enr\u00f4lement soient monnaie courante pour le d\u00e9tachement, l'occasion est toujours excitante, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la Ltv Kelly Riggs, conseill\u00e8re en carri\u00e8res militaires au CRFC, qui a organis\u00e9 les \u00e9v\u00e9nements. Le fait de pouvoir enr\u00f4ler quatre femmes lors de la Journ\u00e9e internationale de la femme, dans une salle remplie de familles et de coll\u00e8gues f\u00e9minines fi\u00e8res, a donn\u00e9 encore plus d'importance \u00e0 la journ\u00e9e, a-t-elle ajout\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elle a f\u00e9licit\u00e9 les nouvelles candidates pour leur s\u00e9lection r\u00e9ussie au service et \u00e0 l'emploi de la FAC, ce qui signifie qu'elles ont franchi l'obstacle des tests d'aptitude et d'autres proc\u00e9dures de s\u00e9lection. Elle a \u00e9galement encourag\u00e9 les femmes \u00e0 prendre un instantan\u00e9 de cette journ\u00e9e importante, afin de pouvoir s'en souvenir tout au long de leur carri\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab C'est un grand honneur et il ne faut pas le prendre \u00e0 la l\u00e9g\u00e8re. Nous avons travaill\u00e9 avec diligence pour nous assurer que vous disposiez de tous les outils n\u00e9cessaires pour r\u00e9ussir et mener une longue carri\u00e8re dans les Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la Ltv Riggs aux personnes enr\u00f4l\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n

La Capc Brenda Nelson, commandant du CRFC dans les provinces de l'Atlantique, \u00e9tait sur place pour proc\u00e9der aux inscriptions et pour rendre hommage aux membres du d\u00e9tachement lors d'une petite c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de remise de distinctions honorifiques, en remettant la D\u00e9coration des Forces canadiennes au Cpl O'Donnell et au Cpl Ramsey, qui a re\u00e7u sa D\u00e9coration des Forces canadiennes - Premi\u00e8re agrafe.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Alors que nous marquons le tout d\u00e9but de la carri\u00e8re de quatre femmes, nous avons pens\u00e9 qu'il serait \u00e9galement appropri\u00e9 de rendre hommage \u00e0 quelques membres f\u00e9minins des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes, membres du personnel ici au Centre de recrutement, qui sont au milieu de leur carri\u00e8re, pour leurs ann\u00e9es de service d\u00e9cor\u00e9 \u00bb, a-t-elle d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Outre les c\u00e9r\u00e9monies, toute la journ\u00e9e au CRFC a \u00e9t\u00e9 consacr\u00e9e aux femmes, un autre groupe de candidates ayant pass\u00e9 des tests d'aptitude dans la matin\u00e9e, et un certain nombre d'entretiens avec des candidates ayant eu lieu dans l'apr\u00e8s-midi.<\/span><\/p>\n
