Les Mariners de la BFC Halifax sont rest\u00e9es invaincues tout au long du tournoi de hockey f\u00e9minin des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes de la r\u00e9gion de l'Atlantique, du 14 au 16 f\u00e9vrier, remportant le titre - et les droits de repr\u00e9sentation aux championnats nationaux des FAC en mars - dans une victoire de 9 \u00e0 4 contre la Base de soutien de la 5e Division du Canada de Gagetown.<\/span><\/p>\n

La 14e Escadre Greenwood a accueilli le tournoi \u00e0 trois \u00e9quipes \u00e0 l'ar\u00e9na Greenwood Gardens - le premier tournoi r\u00e9gional de hockey f\u00e9minin depuis 2019. Le commandant d'escadre par int\u00e9rim du 14e Escadron de soutien aux op\u00e9rations, la lieutenant-colonel Lara Jennings, a accueilli les athl\u00e8tes, les entra\u00eeneurs, les officiels et les b\u00e9n\u00e9voles, en laissant tomber la rondelle officielle lors des c\u00e9r\u00e9monies d'ouverture le 14 f\u00e9vrier.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Bienvenue \u00e0 nos amis de Gagetown et d'Halifax. Nous esp\u00e9rons que vous aurez un tournoi fantastique, et nous serons l\u00e0 pour regarder les matchs. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Greenwood a d\u00e9but\u00e9 contre Halifax, qui a pris une avance de 3-1 d\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re p\u00e9riode et n'a jamais regard\u00e9 en arri\u00e8re. Halifax a marqu\u00e9 deux fois de plus en deuxi\u00e8me p\u00e9riode, contre un seul but pour Greenwood, et a ensuite remport\u00e9 une victoire de 6-4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le deuxi\u00e8me match du 14 f\u00e9vrier a vu Gagetown affronter Halifax. Les \u00e9quipes \u00e9taient proches \u00e0 la fin de la premi\u00e8re p\u00e9riode, Halifax menant 2 \u00e0 1, mais au cours de la deuxi\u00e8me p\u00e9riode, Halifax a pris le dessus avec cinq autres buts. Le score final \u00e9tait Halifax 8, Gagetown 2.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le 15 f\u00e9vrier \u00e9tait un match double entre Greenwood et Gagetown. Dans l'horaire r\u00e9gulier de ce matin-l\u00e0, Greenwood et Gagetown ont fait match nul 3-3 dans la troisi\u00e8me partie, lorsque Greenwood a marqu\u00e9 le but gagnant. Le score final \u00e9tait de 4-3 pour Greenwood. Les deux \u00e9quipes se sont affront\u00e9es de nouveau dans la demi-finale du soir, avec un score nul et vierge jusqu'\u00e0 la fin de la troisi\u00e8me, puis Gagetown a remport\u00e9 la victoire 1-0.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lors de la finale du 16 f\u00e9vrier, Halifax partait avec l'\u00e9tiquette de favori : ils ont marqu\u00e9 deux buts apr\u00e8s neuf minutes de jeu en premi\u00e8re p\u00e9riode, mais Gagetown en a marqu\u00e9 un pour clore la p\u00e9riode. La deuxi\u00e8me p\u00e9riode est une avalanche de buts, Halifax marquant quatre fois, dont un sur la seule p\u00e9nalit\u00e9 du match (deux minutes contre Gagetown), et Gagetown marquant deux fois, \u00e0 huit secondes d'intervalle. Halifax a conserv\u00e9 son avance en troisi\u00e8me p\u00e9riode et a ajout\u00e9 trois autres buts \u00e0 celui de Gagetown, remportant ainsi le championnat 9-4.<\/span><\/p>\n

La Lcol Jennings est revenu pour la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de remise des m\u00e9dailles et des troph\u00e9es, d\u00e9cernant d'abord le titre de joueur le plus utile du tournoi \u00e0 la capitaine de Gagetown, l'adjudant-ma\u00eetre Lizette Leblanc.<\/span><\/p>\n
