C'est donc une excellente occasion de d\u00e9finir les responsabilit\u00e9s professionnelles typiques des psychologues, tout en soulignant le r\u00f4le et les contributions des psychologues du MDN qui servent les membres des FAC dans les FMAR(A).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le r\u00f4le principal des psychologues est de fournir des services d'\u00e9valuation, de consultation et de conseil\/th\u00e9rapie. Ils peuvent diagnostiquer et traiter les maladies mentales et travaillent souvent en collaboration avec des psychiatres, des m\u00e9decins de famille, des infirmiers en sant\u00e9 mentale, des travailleurs sociaux, des conseillers en toxicomanie, des gestionnaires de cas et des aum\u00f4niers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selon la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 canadienne de psychologie (SCP), un psychologue \u00ab \u00e9tudie comment nous pensons, ressentons et nous comportons d'un point de vue scientifique et applique ces connaissances pour aider les gens \u00e0 comprendre, expliquer et modifier leur comportement. \u00bb (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cpa.ca\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">www.cpa.ca\/fr\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). Les psychologues peuvent se sp\u00e9cialiser dans certains domaines ; par exemple, les troubles de l'humeur, les troubles anxieux, les troubles de la personnalit\u00e9, les troubles de l'alimentation, les d\u00e9pendances, les troubles du d\u00e9veloppement et le syndrome de stress post-traumatique (SSPT). Ils travaillent en milieu clinique, dans la recherche et\/ou l'enseignement. \n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Les psychologues ont re\u00e7u une formation approfondie sur les diverses m\u00e9thodes de traitement empiriques. Les m\u00e9thodes qu'ils emploient d\u00e9pendent des circonstances particuli\u00e8res du patient avec lequel ils travaillent. Le traitement est bien plus qu'un simple \"discours\" ! Par exemple, une m\u00e9thode est sp\u00e9cifiquement con\u00e7ue pour aider les patients \u00e0 accro\u00eetre leur motivation. Une autre m\u00e9thode consiste \u00e0 modifier les sch\u00e9mas de pens\u00e9e et de comportement n\u00e9gatifs. Un autre exemple encore est une m\u00e9thode qui se concentre sur le changement des comportements pour mieux correspondre aux valeurs et aux croyances du patient. Plusieurs des psychologues du Centre des services de sant\u00e9 des Forces canadiennes (Atlantique) ont \u00e9galement suivi une formation suppl\u00e9mentaire sur des m\u00e9thodes de traitement hautement sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es, comme la th\u00e9rapie de d\u00e9sensibilisation et de retraitement par les mouvements oculaires et la th\u00e9rapie comportementale dialectique.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le Centre des Services de ant\u00e9 des Forces canadiennes (Atlantique) emploie 8 psychologues dans les services de sant\u00e9 mentale. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les membres des FAC des FMAR(A) ont acc\u00e8s plus rapidement aux services de psychologie () que la population civile en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Avec un ratio d'environ un psychologue pour 1700 membres, les FMAR(A) ont presque le double de psychologues par rapport \u00e0 ce qui est disponible pour la population civile g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse. Cela signifie que les membres des FAC ont un acc\u00e8s relativement rapide aux psychologues, les temps d'attente \u00e9tant plus courts que pour la population civile g\u00e9n\u00e9rale.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tous nos psychologues sont enregistr\u00e9s aupr\u00e8s du Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsbep.org\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">www.nsbep.org<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, dont le mandat est de prot\u00e9ger le public en s'assurant que les prestataires sont correctement form\u00e9s et qualifi\u00e9s.
