Les membres de l'unit\u00e9 de plong\u00e9e de la flotte (Atlantique) sont occup\u00e9s \u00e0 planifier leur course annuelle des plongeurs de la marine au profit du t\u00e9l\u00e9thon Christmas Daddies, le samedi 3 d\u00e9cembre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s deux ann\u00e9es de restrictions COVID-19 limitant les \u00e9v\u00e9nements en personne, la collecte de fonds de cette ann\u00e9e comprendra une course \u00e0 l'unit\u00e9 FDU(A), ainsi que quelques innovations ajout\u00e9es au cours des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es pour perp\u00e9tuer la tradition - des choses comme des \u00ab points d'int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00bb o\u00f9 les plongeurs de la marine peuvent faire des activit\u00e9s sans danger pour la pand\u00e9mie tout en recueillant des dons, et leur page GoFundMe qui a connu un \u00e9norme succ\u00e8s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab S'il y a un c\u00f4t\u00e9 positif \u00e0 une pand\u00e9mie, c'est qu'elle nous a forc\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00eatre plus cr\u00e9atifs et c'est une bonne chose car maintenant nous pouvons collecter encore plus d'argent pour Christmas Daddies \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le matelot de premi\u00e8re classe Brad Northrup, membre des UPF(A) et l'un des organisateurs de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le fait que 2022 marque le 40e anniversaire de la course des plongeurs est la cerise sur le g\u00e2teau pour l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement de cette ann\u00e9e, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous sommes tr\u00e8s enthousiastes \u00e0 l'id\u00e9e de pouvoir refaire la course, d'avoir ces points d'int\u00e9r\u00eat et la page GoFundMe, et que ce soit notre 40e anniversaire. C'est une ann\u00e9e \u00e9norme pour nous et nous ne pourrions pas \u00eatre plus heureux de le faire \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Mat 1 Northrup.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les plongeurs de la flotte ont lanc\u00e9 cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement annuel en 1983 et ont depuis r\u00e9colt\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de 350 000 dollars de dons gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la course elle-m\u00eame. En 1985, ils ont ajout\u00e9 un autre \u00e9l\u00e9ment - un casque MK5 - \u00e0 la partie vente aux ench\u00e8res de la course. C'est l'un des articles de vente aux ench\u00e8res annuels les plus convoit\u00e9s par les Christmas Daddies, et il a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 faire grimper la contribution totale des plongeurs \u00e0 plus d'un million de dollars depuis 1983.<\/span><\/p>\n

La page GoFundMe en ligne et les points d'int\u00e9r\u00eat ayant permis de r\u00e9colter plus de 13 000 $ chacune des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, les UPF(A) sont impatientes de voir combien elles pourront r\u00e9colter lors de la course de cette ann\u00e9e, qui se terminera dans le studio de CTV \u00e0 Halifax pendant le t\u00e9l\u00e9thon des Christmas Daddies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tradition des F\u00eates depuis 1964, le t\u00e9l\u00e9thon Christmas Daddies permet de recueillir des fonds pour acheter des cadeaux aux enfants et de la nourriture aux familles, aidant ainsi des milliers d'enfants et de familles des Maritimes chaque ann\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n
