Une \u00e9quipe de dynamophilie de la BFC Halifax a rapport\u00e9 quelques m\u00e9dailles apr\u00e8s avoir particip\u00e9 aux tout premiers championnats r\u00e9gionaux de dynamophilie des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC) de l'Atlantique, qui ont eu lieu du 17 au 19 octobre \u00e0 la 14e Escadre Greenwood.<\/p>\n

L'\u00e9quipe de Halifax s'est jointe aux participants des bases de la r\u00e9gion de l'Atlantique - la Base de soutien de la 5e Division du Canada Gagetown (BS 5 Div CA Gagetown), la 9e Escadre Gander, la 12e Escadre Shearwater et le d\u00e9tachement Aldershot de la BS 5 Div CA, ainsi que la 14e Escadre Greenwood, h\u00f4te de la comp\u00e9tition.<\/p>\n

L'\u00e9quipe de Halifax, compos\u00e9e de cinq personnes, \u00e9tait dirig\u00e9e par l\u2019enseigne de vaisseau de premi\u00e8re classe (Ens 1) Nathan Sherwood en tant qu'entra\u00eeneur, ainsi que par le le ma\u00eetre de deuxi\u00e8me classe (M 2) Mitch Sheppard, le premier ma\u00eetre de deuxi\u00e8me classe (PM 2) Brent Williamson, le caporal-chef (Cplc) Raouf Hakam et le matelot de premi\u00e8re classe (Mat 1) Stephan Nael.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C'\u00e9tait un grand \u00e9v\u00e9nement \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l\u2019Ens 1 Sherwood. \u00ab Toutes les personnes impliqu\u00e9es de Greenwood ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fantastiques. C'\u00e9tait la premi\u00e8re fois qu'ils organisaient une comp\u00e9tition officielle et tout s'est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 sans heurts ; tout \u00e9tait vraiment bien organis\u00e9 pendant ces deux jours. \u00bb<\/p>\n

La dynamophilie comprend trois divisions : le squat, le bench press et le deadlift. Les comp\u00e9titeurs effectuent trois lev\u00e9es dans chaque cat\u00e9gorie et le meilleur score de chaque division est comptabilis\u00e9. L'athl\u00e8te qui obtient le poids total combin\u00e9 le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 remporte sa cat\u00e9gorie de poids.<\/p>\n

Bien que la force soit clairement un attribut important, ce sont les d\u00e9tails techniques qui, en fin de compte, donnent les meilleurs r\u00e9sultats - et c'est l\u00e0 que l'entra\u00eenement peut aider les dynamophiles \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer et \u00e0 affiner leur technique de levage, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l\u2019Ens 1 Sherwood.<\/p>\n

\u00ab La quantit\u00e9 de poids soulev\u00e9e est vraiment secondaire. C'est la technique qui sera le facteur le plus important pour d\u00e9terminer s'ils peuvent effectuer le soul\u00e8vement en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9 ou non. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Deux fois par semaine pendant plus de six semaines avant la comp\u00e9tition, les membres de l'\u00e9quipe de la BFC Halifax se sont r\u00e9unis pour s'entra\u00eener au S-120, le centre d'entra\u00eenement consolid\u00e9 au matelotage \u00e0 Stadacona. L'entra\u00eenement a clairement port\u00e9 fruit puisque l'\u00e9quipe est revenue avec une premi\u00e8re place et deux secondes places.<\/p>\n

Le M 2 Sheppard s'est class\u00e9 premier dans sa cat\u00e9gorie de poids, apr\u00e8s un squat de 195 kilogrammes, un bench press de 142,5 kilogrammes et un deadlift de 220 kilogrammes.<\/p>\n

Le Pm 2 Williamson et le Mat 1 Nael se sont class\u00e9s deuxi\u00e8mes dans leur cat\u00e9gorie de poids respective. Le Pm 2 Williamson a effectu\u00e9 un squat de 220 kilos, un d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 couch\u00e9 de 165 kilos et un soulev\u00e9 de terre de 265 kilos, et le Mat 1 Nael a effectu\u00e9 un squat de 165 kilos, un d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 couch\u00e9 de 120 kilos et un soulev\u00e9 de terre de 195 kilos.<\/p>\n

“For a first competition, you don\u2019t know what to expect. You\u2019ve learned all the commands and trained and trained but then actually going in it feels totally different,\u201d said S1 Nael. \u201cFor me, I felt a lot of nerves at the start but as soon as I got the first lift done\u2026 the nerves were gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

C'\u00e9tait \u00e9galement la premi\u00e8re fois que le Cplc Hakam participait \u00e0 une comp\u00e9tition de dynamophilie. Ayant commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 s'entra\u00eener en dynamophilie il y a un peu plus d'un an, son objectif pour la comp\u00e9tition \u00e9tait de rester concentr\u00e9 sur sa technique.<\/p>\n

\u00ab S'entra\u00eener seul est une chose ; on se sent \u00e0 l'aise avec cela, alors s'entra\u00eener ensemble en tant que groupe est un autre niveau au-del\u00e0 de cela. Puis la comp\u00e9tition proprement dite... c'est encore autre chose \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9. \u00ab \u00c0 chaque niveau, c'est un peu diff\u00e9rent, mais c'est bien. Vous \u00eates toujours en comp\u00e9tition avec vous-m\u00eame, c'est ce dont vous devez vous souvenir. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Le Cplc Hakam \u00e9tait satisfait de ses r\u00e9sultats : un squat de 142,5 kilos, un bench press de 92,5 kilos et un deadlift de 205 kilos.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Je voulais me surpasser par rapport \u00e0 l'ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, et c'est ce que j'ai fait. J'ai constat\u00e9 une \u00e9norme am\u00e9lioration \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Ayant commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 pratiquer la dynamophilie r\u00e9cemment, la camaraderie est l'une des choses que le Pm 2 Williamson aime dans ce sport : \u00ab Tous les comp\u00e9titeurs s'encouragent les uns les autres. Tout le monde veut simplement voir les autres r\u00e9ussir et faire leurs lev\u00e9es. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Ce sport est de plus en plus populaire, surtout chez les femmes, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Slt Sherwood, qui est membre de la Nova Scotia Powerlifting Association, qui organise des comp\u00e9titions locales et r\u00e9gionales de dynamophilie.<\/p>\n

Maintenant que la dynamophilie fait partie du programme sportif national des FAC, il esp\u00e8re que davantage de personnes de la BFC Halifax s'y adonneront et qu'il y aura plus de comp\u00e9titions \u00e0 l'avenir.<\/p>\n

\u00ab La dynamophilie est un sport formidable... habituellement, il n'y a que vous et la barre, alors si nous nous r\u00e9unissons en groupe et que nous avons un \u00e9v\u00e9nement pour lequel nous nous entra\u00eenons, cela rend le tout encore plus amusant \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n
