On July 9, following the National Apology to descendants of No. 2 Construction Battalion, the Halifax Defence Visible Minorities Advisory Group (DVMAG) presented National Apology Advisory Committee (NAAC) members with certificates of appreciation for their contributions and leadership in shaping this historic moment of remembrance and reconciliation. The event brought together NAAC members and local Defence Team members \u2013 including Rene Gannon and 2Lt Jerome Downey, Halifax DVMAG co-chairs, and Base Commander Capt(N) Sean Williams, DVMAG Champion \u2013 working in the anti-racism, equality and inclusion space. Certificates of recognition were also presented to Rene and Jerome for their service and support to the NAAC as well as their continuous efforts in fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment. Bravo Zulu to our Defence community and local leaders for honouring the legacy of No. 2 Construction Battalion and for paving the way towards a more equitable future!<\/p>\n

Le 9 juillet, apr\u00e8s la pr\u00e9sentation d\u2019excuses nationales aux descendants des membres du 2e Bataillon de la construction, le Groupe consultatif des minorit\u00e9s visibles de la D\u00e9fense (GCMVD) d\u2019Halifax a remis des certificats d\u2019appr\u00e9ciation aux membres du Comit\u00e9 consultatif sur la pr\u00e9sentation d\u2019excuses nationales (CCPEN) en reconnaissance de leur leadership et de leur contribution \u00e0 ce grand moment de comm\u00e9moration et de r\u00e9conciliation. Ont assist\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement des membres du CCPEN et de l\u2019\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense locale, dont Rene Gannon et l\u2019Ens 1 Jerome Downey, copr\u00e9sidents du GCMVD d\u2019Halifax, et le commandant de la base, le Capv Sean Williams, champion du GCMVD, qui \u0153uvrent en faveur de la lutte contre le racisme, de l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 et de l\u2019inclusion.
