LE CPL MITCHELL PAQUETTE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Le navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Robert Hampton Gray, le tout dernier patrouilleur arctique et hauturier de la Marine royale canadienne (MRC), a quitt\u00e9 le port d\u2019Halifax le 14 ao\u00fbt en compagnie de ses partenaires et alli\u00e9s. Ce d\u00e9part a marqu\u00e9 le d\u00e9but d\u2019une travers\u00e9e historique qui m\u00e8nera le navire \u00e0 travers l\u2019Arctique canadien jusqu\u2019\u00e0 son nouveau port d\u2019attache, la Base des Forces canadiennes (BFC) Esquimalt, o\u00f9 le Robert Hampton Gray rejoindra la Flotte canadienne du Pacifique avant sa mise en service pr\u00e9vue cet automne. Le navire transporte \u00e9galement \u00e0 son bord un h\u00e9licopt\u00e8re Bell 429 de la Garde c\u00f4ti\u00e8re canadienne, une nouvelle capacit\u00e9 pour cette classe de navires et pour la MRC, qui t\u00e9moigne de l\u2019int\u00e9gration croissante au sein de l\u2019\u00e9quipe de d\u00e9fense.<\/p>\n

Le HDMS Thetis de la Marine royale danoise et le navire de la Garde c\u00f4ti\u00e8re canadienne (NGCC) George R. Pearkes ont \u00e9galement quitt\u00e9 Halifax, et le groupe op\u00e9rationnel se renforcera encore en mer, l\u2019USS Wichita et le patrouilleur fran\u00e7ais FS Fulmar devant rejoindre les navires pour mener des op\u00e9rations et des exercices multinationaux dans le Nord canadien.<\/p>\n

Le voyage d\u00e9bute par l\u2019op\u00e9ration NANOOK avant de se poursuivre \u00e0 travers le passage du Nord-Ouest.
