Le matelot-chef (Matc) Stephen Goulding, technicien en g\u00e9nie des syst\u00e8mes maritimes \u00e0 bord du navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (HMCS) Robert Hampton Gray, a r\u00e9cemment \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9sign\u00e9 Matelot du trimestre de la Flotte canadienne de l\u2019Atlantique, en reconnaissance de son leadership, de son professionnalisme et de son d\u00e9vouement tant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de la Marine royale canadienne que de la communaut\u00e9 au sens large.<\/p>\n

Ses coll\u00e8gues et ses sup\u00e9rieurs affirment que le Matc Goulding s\u2019est distingu\u00e9 par son engagement \u00e0 favoriser le d\u00e9veloppement de ses coll\u00e8gues, en les encadrant et en leur offrant une formation pratique tout au long d\u2019une p\u00e9riode intense d\u2019essais et de pr\u00e9paratifs op\u00e9rationnels. Ses efforts ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 faire en sorte que le personnel ait confiance en ses capacit\u00e9s et soit pr\u00eat \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre aux exigences op\u00e9rationnelles, tout en renfor\u00e7ant la pr\u00e9paration technique globale du navire.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Matc Goulding est reconnu pour son r\u00f4le de motivateur au sein de l\u2019\u00e9quipage, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un style de leadership qui a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 renforcer la confiance et la coh\u00e9sion entre les membres de l\u2019\u00e9quipe.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019obtention r\u00e9cente par le Matc Goulding du cours de qualification \u00e9l\u00e9mentaire en leadership a permis de mettre davantage en valeur ces qualit\u00e9s. Il s\u2019est vu d\u00e9cerner le \u00ab bouclier du commandant \u00bb, remis au candidat ayant le mieux d\u00e9montr\u00e9 son excellence en mati\u00e8re de leadership tout au long de la formation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

En dehors de ses fonctions militaires, il est \u00e9galement reconnu comme un membre actif de la communaut\u00e9. Le Matc Goulding s\u2019investit dans les sports pour les jeunes de la r\u00e9gion en tant qu\u2019arbitre de hockey et a \u00e9galement consacr\u00e9 b\u00e9n\u00e9volement une partie de son temps libre \u00e0 participer \u00e0 des recherches men\u00e9es par le D\u00e9partement de psychologie de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Dalhousie.<\/span><\/p>\n
