Le Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Margaret Brooke a connu un changement de commandement apr\u00e8s un mandat de deux ans sous les ordres de la capitaine de fr\u00e9gate (Capf) Teri Share, au cours duquel le navire a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 plusieurs premi\u00e8res pour un navire de la Marine royale canadienne (MRC). Sous son commandement, le Margaret Brooke est devenu le premier navire de la MRC \u00e0 se rendre en Antarctique, a soutenu la premi\u00e8re exp\u00e9dition scientifique antarctique enti\u00e8rement canadienne et a \u00e9t\u00e9 le seul navire de la MRC \u00e0 naviguer dans l\u2019Arctique et l\u2019Antarctique au cours de la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Le capitaine de fr\u00e9gate (Capf) Justin Robicheau a pris le commandement du navire des mains de la Capf Share lors d\u2019une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie tenue sur le pont d\u2019envol du Margaret Brooke le 10 juillet.<\/p>\n

En 2025, le navire a effectu\u00e9 une mission de 119 jours en Am\u00e9rique du Sud et en Antarctique dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration PROJECTION afin de soutenir une \u00e9quipe de scientifiques de Ressources naturelles Canada dans le cadre de recherches sur les changements climatiques. Au cours de cette mission, le Margaret Brooke a fait escale dans neuf ports d\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud et d\u2019Am\u00e9rique centrale afin de renforcer les liens entre le Canada et ses partenaires de la r\u00e9gion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Non seulement nous avons pu mener \u00e0 bien tous ces travaux scientifiques exceptionnels en Am\u00e9rique du Sud et en Antarctique, mais les relations que nous avons nou\u00e9es avec les pays d\u2019Am\u00e9rique latine ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ph\u00e9nom\u00e9nales \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la Capf Share au sujet de cette mission, au cours de laquelle le navire a parcouru plus de 25 000 milles marins.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prenant la parole lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie, le commandant de la Flotte canadienne de l\u2019Atlantique, le commodore (Cmdre) Jacob French, a salu\u00e9 le mandat de la Capf Share, soulignant qu\u2019elle avait pris le commandement il y a deux ans et qu\u2019elle avait veill\u00e9 \u00e0 ce que l\u2019\u00e9quipage soit \u00ab imm\u00e9diatement pr\u00eat \u00e0 remplir toutes ses missions op\u00e9rationnelles. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Il a \u00e9galement soulign\u00e9 sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 former une \u00e9quipe soud\u00e9e et motiv\u00e9e.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Votre leadership et votre personnalit\u00e9 contribuent au moral exceptionnel et \u00e0 l\u2019attitude positive qui r\u00e8gnent \u00e0 bord du navire et qui se r\u00e9percutent de mani\u00e8re contagieuse sur l\u2019ensemble de la flotte. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La Capf Share, revenant sur son mandat, a exprim\u00e9 sa gratitude envers sa famille et son \u00e9quipage pour le soutien qu\u2019ils lui ont apport\u00e9 tout au long de ces deux ann\u00e9es.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Capf Robicheau occupait auparavant le poste de commandant en second \u00e0 bord du NCSM William Hall. Dans son allocution, il a rappel\u00e9 les trois principes de leadership que son grand-p\u00e8re lui avait transmis le jour o\u00f9 il s\u2019\u00e9tait engag\u00e9 dans la Marine : \u00eatre \u00ab juste, ferme et accessible. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Il a \u00e9galement salu\u00e9 l\u2019exemple donn\u00e9 par la Capf Share. \u00ab Le professionnalisme, la fiert\u00e9 et la confiance dont j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9moin au sein de l\u2019\u00e9quipage de ce navire ces derniers jours sont le reflet direct de son leadership. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Capf Robicheau et l\u2019\u00e9quipage du Margaret Brooke ont d\u00e9sormais pour mission de remonter le fleuve Saint-Laurent afin de participer au Salon des carri\u00e8res maritimes de 2026, avant d\u2019entreprendre une p\u00e9riode de r\u00e9parations et de remise en \u00e9tat \u00e0 Qu\u00e9bec. Le navire a quitt\u00e9 Halifax le 16 juillet, moins d\u2019une semaine apr\u00e8s la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de passation de commandement.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Ce n\u2019est pas une mince affaire, mais en tirant les le\u00e7ons des p\u00e9riodes de radoub pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes, nous redonnerons un nouveau souffle \u00e0 ce navire de la Marine royale canadienne et le pr\u00e9parerons pour son prochain cycle op\u00e9rationnel \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Capf Robicheau au sujet des travaux \u00e0 venir.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
