Ils sont directement responsables de l\u2019ex\u00e9cution de t\u00e2ches maritimes en appui rapproch\u00e9 aux op\u00e9rations du COMFOSCAN, tant au pays qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger. Les COAS font partie de la Force op\u00e9rationnelle interarm\u00e9es 2 (FOI 2), unit\u00e9 des forces d\u2019op\u00e9rations sp\u00e9ciales d\u2019une disponibilit\u00e9 op\u00e9rationnelle et d\u2019une pr\u00e9cision extr\u00eame.
