Le Navire canadien de Sa majest\u00e9 (NCSM)\u00a0<\/span>Sackville<\/span><\/i>le M\u00e9morial naval canadien et le derni\u00e8re corvette de la classe Flower survivant, a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9activ\u00e9e c\u00e9r\u00e9monieusement \u00e0 la Marine royale canadienne (MRC) \u00e0 son domicile d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9,<\/span>\u00a0Sackville<\/span><\/i>\u00a0Landing le matin de 15 mai.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement a honor\u00e9 le service du navire en temps de guerre, le r\u00f4le de la classe de Flower pendant la Bataille de l\u2019Atlantique et sa mission moderne comme m\u00e9morial et mus\u00e9e.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Contre-amiral (cam) Jos\u00e9e Kurtz, Commandant des forces maritimes Atlantique, en parlant au c\u00e9r\u00e9monie a dit que le\u00a0<\/span>Sackville<\/span><\/i>\u00a0et ses compagnes de la classe Flower a fix\u00e9 plusieurs normes pour les op\u00e9rations de l\u2019MRC.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Le NCSM\u00a0<\/span>Sackville<\/span><\/i>\u00a0a aid\u00e9 non seulement \u00e0 gagner des victoires en temps de guerre, mais aussi \u00e0 \u00e9tablir des fondations professionnelles \u00e0 la Marine royale canadienne.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pendant la Deuxi\u00e8me guerre mondiale, le\u00a0<\/span>Sackville<\/span><\/i>\u00a0plus notablement a servi comme vaisseau d\u2019escort aux routes de convoi, prot\u00e9geant les navires Alli\u00e9s de ravitaillement des attaques des U-Boots allemagnes. Le navire a rest\u00e9 en service comme vaisseau de recherche et a \u00e9t\u00e9 pay\u00e9 en 1982.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le cam Kurtz a ajout\u00e9 que en r\u00e9activant le navire, \u201cla Marine r\u00e9affirme son soutien pour un navire vaillant qui sert comme M\u00e9morial naval du canada.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Les invit\u00e9s repr\u00e9sentant l'histoire t\u00f4t de<\/span>\u00a0Sackville<\/span><\/i>, \u00e9taient au front d'eau. Frances McAvity, la petite-fille de Denise Oland, le sponsor originaire du navire, a parl\u00e9 du role de sa grand-m\u00e8re au c\u00e9r\u00e9monie du lancement du navire. Comme partie de la r\u00e9activation, l\u2019officier commandant de<\/span>\u00a0Sackville<\/span><\/i>, Capitaine de fr\u00e9gate (\u00e0 la retraite) Gary Reddy, \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 un fanion commissionnant qui \u00e9tait hiss\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 du m\u00e2t. Les membres de la Fiducie comm\u00e9morative de la Marine royale canadienne (FCMRC), l'organisation sans but lucratif qui poss\u00e8de et op\u00e8re le navire, a dit un \u201ctrois hourras\u201d traditionnel au pont du navire.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pr\u00e9sident de la FCMRC, Capitaine de corvette (\u00e0 la retraite) Greg Cottingham, a dit que la r\u00e9activation \u00e9tait un r\u00e9sultat des dialogues entre l\u2019organisation et le leadership de l\u2019MRC, rendant hommage en particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 la Contre-amiral Angus Topshee, Commandant de l\u2019MRC, pour avoir aid\u00e9 l\u2019initiative \u00e0 progresser.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La FCMRC continuera \u00e0 surveiller les op\u00e9rations quotidiennes du navire.
