Tandis que les vaisseaux de la classe Orca sont utilis\u00e9 premi\u00e8rement comme outils d'entra\u00eenement, l'introduction des armes mont\u00e9es r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s changeant du global milieu maritime actuel et l'accent renouvel\u00e9 sur la pr\u00e9paration op\u00e9rationnelle de la MRC par-tous les niveaux d'entra\u00eenement.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cL'introduction d'une capacit\u00e9 de petites armes sur les vaisseaux de la classe Orca r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit un milieu de secours \u00e9laborant,\u201d a dit le Lieutenant de vaisseau (ltv) Jeremy Morissette. \u201cIl y a une reconnaissance croissant que m\u00eame les outils d'entra\u00eenement doivent op\u00e9rer s\u00fbrement et cr\u00e9diblement dans une gamme des situations.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cette nouvelle capacit\u00e9 inclut les rifles C8 et C22 et la mitrailleuse C6. Pour l'UPE, la capacit\u00e9 repr\u00e9sente plus que simplement ajoutant les armes \u00e0 une plateforme \u2014 \u00e7a renforce aussi la principale de \u2018nous entra\u00eenons comme nous combattons\u201d, comblant la lacune entre un milieu d'entra\u00eenement et un milieu op\u00e9rationnel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cLes vaisseaux de la classe Orca sont probablement les vaisseaux de la MRC qui \u00e9prouvent les plus jours au cours d'ann\u00e9e et o\u00f9 plusieurs marins auront leur premi\u00e8re exp\u00e9rience marine,\u201d a dit le ltv Morissette. \u201cAyant des armes \u00e0 bord laisse les marins \u00e0 tous grades d'\u00eatre expos\u00e9 aux proc\u00e9dures d'arme \u00e0 la mer en faisant les vaisseaux plus capables op\u00e9rationnellement \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre aux menaces potentielles.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Au-del\u00e0 les avantages op\u00e9rationnels, l\u2019introduction de la capacit\u00e9 fournit aussi les marins d\u2019\u00eatre expos\u00e9 aux pratiques proc\u00e9dures pr\u00e9cieux, responsabilit\u00e9s et standards de s\u00fbret\u00e9 associ\u00e9s avec la conduire des s\u00e9ries d'armes \u00e0 la mer.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Avant que la fusillade de 22 avril pourrait se d\u00e9rouler, la pr\u00e9paration extensive et le d\u00e9veloppement proc\u00e9dural \u00e9taient requis. Les membres impliqu\u00e9s \u00e0 l'organisation de s\u00fbret\u00e9 des armes au navire ont aussi subi des comp\u00e9tences formelles et re\u00e7us du mentorat soutenu par le personnel senior en accordant des normes des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC).\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cLa s\u00fbret\u00e9 est centrale \u00e0 comment op\u00e9rer l'MRC, et cette capacit\u00e9 ne fait aucune exception,\u201d a not\u00e9 le ltv Morissette. \u201cLa planification rigoureuse puis le processus qui a form\u00e9 cette fusillade ont assur\u00e9 que l'atmosph\u00e8re \u00e0 bord \u00e9tait calme et pos\u00e9 et que chaque membre a connu exactement leur r\u00f4le et leurs devoirs.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">L'\u00e9quipe a s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 Constance Bank, un lieu d'entra\u00eenement bien-\u00e9tabli au c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Victoria, comme endroit de la fusillade.
