Du 20 au 24 avril 2026, le Canada a accueilli la 16e r\u00e9union du Groupe d\u2019utilisateurs du projet de navire de combat mondial (GCS) \u00e0 la Base des Forces canadiennes (BFC) Halifax, r\u00e9unissant des partenaires internationaux qui travaillent \u00e0 la conception d\u2019un navire de guerre de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration commun.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le forum de travail a r\u00e9uni les marines qui d\u00e9veloppent des navires bas\u00e9s sur la conception du Type 26 : les destroyers de la classe Fleuves et rivi\u00e8res de la Marine royale canadienne, les fr\u00e9gates de type 26 du Royaume-Uni et les fr\u00e9gates de classe Hunter de l\u2019Australie. La r\u00e9union a \u00e9galement marqu\u00e9 l\u2019entr\u00e9e officielle de la Marine royale norv\u00e9gienne dans le groupe d\u2019utilisateurs, \u00e0 la suite d\u2019une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de signature de la charte dirig\u00e9e par le capitaine de vaisseau Alex Erichsen. La Norv\u00e8ge pr\u00e9voit \u00e9galement d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir de cinq \u00e0 six navires bas\u00e9s sur la conception du Type 26.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Selon le groupe, celui-ci supervise le d\u00e9veloppement, la construction et l\u2019exploitation future d\u2019une classe pouvant atteindre 34 navires de guerre dans les pays participants. L\u2019initiative couvre plusieurs programmes nationaux ax\u00e9s sur les capacit\u00e9s de combat de surface et de lutte anti-sous-marine.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Au cours de la semaine, les \u00e9quipes de programme ont partag\u00e9 des mises \u00e0 jour et discut\u00e9 de questions techniques et op\u00e9rationnelles li\u00e9es \u00e0 leurs efforts respectifs de construction navale. Les discussions ont port\u00e9 sur l\u2019\u00e9volution de la conception, les consid\u00e9rations relatives \u00e0 la cha\u00eene d\u2019approvisionnement ainsi que sur les approches en mati\u00e8re de livraison et de soutien. Le groupe indique que le forum soutient \u00e9galement le d\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 long terme entre les marines participantes.<\/span><\/p>\n

La charte du Groupe d\u2019utilisateurs du GCS d\u00e9crit le partenariat entre le Royaume-Uni, l\u2019Australie, la Norv\u00e8ge et le Canada comme un effort de collaboration visant \u00e0 optimiser la livraison, le maintien en service et l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 op\u00e9rationnelle des diff\u00e9rentes variantes de navires. Elle pr\u00e9cise que le groupe vise \u00e0 utiliser efficacement les ressources, \u00e0 relever les d\u00e9fis communs et \u00e0 cerner des possibilit\u00e9s communes, tout en reconnaissant la nature souveraine de chaque programme national.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outre les discussions \u00e0 la BFC Halifax, les hauts repr\u00e9sentants ont \u00e9galement observ\u00e9 les progr\u00e8s r\u00e9alis\u00e9s sur le futur navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 Fraser, le premier destroyer de la classe Fleuves et rivi\u00e8res pour le Canada, dont la construction a commenc\u00e9 il y a environ un an.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Des partenaires industriels des trois programmes ont particip\u00e9 aux discussions tout au long de la semaine. La r\u00e9union s\u2019est termin\u00e9e par une visite du chantier naval Irving Shipbuilding.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
