Une histoire familiale marqu\u00e9e par le sacrifice guide le parcours du matelot de 3e classe (Mat 3) Marco Petrucci au sein de la Marine royale canadienne.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Mon arri\u00e8re-arri\u00e8re-grand-p\u00e8re a servi pendant la Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale et la Seconde Guerre mondiale en Italie. Il a m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 captur\u00e9 \u00bb, explique le Mat 3 Petrucci. \u00ab Quelques soldats allemands ont \u00e9t\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9s tu\u00e9s dans la r\u00e9gion de Pianosinatico, d\u2019o\u00f9 vient ma famille. \u00c0 cause de cela, ils ont align\u00e9 25 Sisi et 25 Petrucci, et ils les ont tous fusill\u00e9s. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Une pierre tombale commune portant 50 noms se dresse \u00e0 Pianosinatico, en m\u00e9moire des hommes ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s \u00e0 la suite des pertes allemandes. Vingt-cinq de ces noms se terminent par \u00ab Petrucci \u00bb. \u00ab Nous sommes tous all\u00e9s visiter cette tombe \u00bb, raconte le Mat 3 Petrucci.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab On sort de l\u2019\u00e9cole secondaire en pensant que le monde nous appartient et que tout sera facile \u00bb, dit le Mat 3 Petrucci.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Mais ce n\u2019est absolument pas le cas. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Avant de s\u2019enr\u00f4ler dans la Marine royale canadienne en tant que technicien de marine, le Mat 3 Petrucci a occup\u00e9 divers petits boulots.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab J\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 sauveteur, j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 un enseignant suppl\u00e9ant \u00e0 un moment donn\u00e9. Mais en fin de compte, ces emplois ne me donnaient pas assez de motivation. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Les techniciens de marine (TECH MAR) jouent un r\u00f4le essentiel en mer. Ils r\u00e9solvent les probl\u00e8mes internes, conseillent le commandement et r\u00e9tablissent les fonctions du syst\u00e8me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tous les syst\u00e8mes \u00e0 bord sont connect\u00e9s; l\u2019\u00e9quipage d\u2019un navire doit fonctionner comme une machine bien huil\u00e9e. M\u00eame une d\u00e9faillance mineure en mer peut rapidement s\u2019aggraver si elle n\u2019est pas trait\u00e9e, mettant chaque membre d\u2019\u00e9quipage en danger.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Notre bo\u00eete d\u2019engrenages, c\u2019est la partie la plus importante du navire pour nous. Si quelque chose ne fonctionne pas, le navire peut s\u2019arr\u00eater \u00bb, explique le Mat 3 Petrucci. \u00ab Et maintenant, j\u2019en suis responsable. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Combats, incendies, inondations, dommages, \u00e9crasements d\u2019h\u00e9licopt\u00e8res. \u00bb Le Mat 3 Petrucci et son \u00e9quipe sont responsables d\u2019intervenir dans toutes ces situations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab La confiance doit r\u00e9gner \u00e0 tous les niveaux \u00bb, dit le Mat 3 Petrucci au sujet de la vie en mer. \u00ab Parce que nous savons que s\u2019il arrive quoi que ce soit, nous pouvons compter les uns sur les autres. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c0 travers les d\u00e9fis qu\u2019ils ont relev\u00e9s ensemble, le Mat 3 Petrucci et ses camarades de bord ont tiss\u00e9 des liens tr\u00e8s forts. Le fait d\u2019avoir vu \u00ab le meilleur et le pire de chacun d\u2019entre nous \u00bb a cr\u00e9\u00e9 un lien qu\u2019il qualifie de familial.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fort de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience qu\u2019il a acquise au cours de la derni\u00e8re ann\u00e9e, le Mat 3 Petrucci a d\u00e9sormais le privil\u00e8ge d\u2019encadrer les recrues.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous accueillons de nouveaux gars, des recrues, et maintenant je fais partie de ceux vers qui ils se tournent. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Le mentorat est une composante essentielle de la progression des marins; il permet d\u2019appliquer les connaissances acquises et de les renforcer en les transmettant.<\/span><\/p>\n

C\u2019est particuli\u00e8rement vrai pour les groupes professionnels techniques, comme celui de TECH MAR, puisque des marins comme le Mat 3 Petrucci doivent \u00e9voluer avec leur temps et insuffler des efforts de modernisation \u00e0 la nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de recrues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Mat 3 Petrucci effectue \u00e9galement tous les travaux de t\u00f4lerie n\u00e9cessaires, notamment le soudage et l\u2019usinage. Il s\u2019est retrouv\u00e9 responsable des syst\u00e8mes vitaux, m\u00e9caniques comme \u00e9lectriques, qui permettent au navire de poursuivre sa route.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Mat 3 Petrucci a d\u00e9sormais le privil\u00e8ge de jouer un r\u00f4le essentiel dans la constitution de la Marine de demain, tout en perfectionnant ses comp\u00e9tences en leadership et en faisant progresser sa carri\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les souvenirs historiques, comme ceux de l\u2019arri\u00e8re-arri\u00e8re-grand-p\u00e8re du Mat 3 Petrucci, fa\u00e7onnent l\u2019identit\u00e9 moderne au sein de la Marine. Il perp\u00e9tue un double h\u00e9ritage : la r\u00e9silience comm\u00e9mor\u00e9e \u00e0 Pianosinatico et le r\u00f4le essentiel de la Marine d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, d\u00e9montrant que le service relie les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations et traverse les oc\u00e9ans.<\/span><\/p>\n
