Au cours des derniers mois, des officiers de la Marine royale canadienne (MRC) sont devenus des invit\u00e9s r\u00e9guliers d\u2019EdUp Canada, un balado anim\u00e9 par Michael Sangster, chef de la direction de l\u2019Association nationale des coll\u00e8ges de carri\u00e8res (NACC). Cette plateforme modeste mais efficace a r\u00e9cemment accueilli des invit\u00e9s tels que le capitaine de corvette Chris Elliott, commandant du Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Hunter, le capitaine de fr\u00e9gate Jeffrey Anderson, commandant du NCSM St. John\u2019s, et m\u00eame le vice-amiral (Vam) Angus Topshee, commandant de la MRC.<\/p>\n

Il ne s\u2019agit pas de CBC News, de CTV ou du National. Alors pourquoi les hauts dirigeants de la marine et les marins choisissent-ils de prendre la parole au micro d\u2019EdUp Canada? La r\u00e9ponse se trouve dans ce que Sangster a lui-m\u00eame soulign\u00e9 lors de sa conversation avec le Vam Topshee :<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter que nous venons de faire un sondage dans un coll\u00e8ge et que 70 % des dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s ont demand\u00e9 : \u201cPuis-je rencontrer la Marine? Peuvent-ils venir nous parler?\u201d \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9quipage du NCSM St. John\u2019s \u00e9tait pr\u00eat \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 cet appel. Il a transform\u00e9 son carr\u00e9 des officiers en studio de baladodiffusion improvis\u00e9 pendant la travers\u00e9e de l\u2019Atlantique.<\/p>\n

En mer et sur les ondes<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alors qu\u2019ils faisaient route vers la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e pour rejoindre le 2e Groupe maritime permanent de l\u2019OTAN (SNMG2) dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration REASSURANCE, une vingtaine de membres du St. John\u2019s ont pris quelques minutes de leur journ\u00e9e pour partager leurs exp\u00e9riences et leurs r\u00f4les \u00e0 bord du navire.<\/p>\n

Ces membres d\u2019\u00e9quipage repr\u00e9sentaient un large \u00e9ventail de m\u00e9tiers, notamment :<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        • Communicateur naval<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Cuisinier<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
              \n
            • Op\u00e9rateur de sonar<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                \n
              • Op\u00e9rateur de d\u00e9tecteurs \u00e9lectroniques maritimes<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    Ces entretiens visaient \u00e0 permettre aux Canadiens de mieux comprendre la vie \u00e0 bord d\u2019un navire de guerre et, surtout, les possibilit\u00e9s de carri\u00e8re au sein de la Marine.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    Qu\u2019est-ce que le NACC?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    L\u2019Association nationale des coll\u00e8ges de carri\u00e8res (NACC) repr\u00e9sente plus de 550 coll\u00e8ges de carri\u00e8res priv\u00e9s r\u00e9glement\u00e9s \u00e0 travers le Canada et accueille environ 200 000 \u00e9tudiants chaque ann\u00e9e. Ces \u00e9tablissements mettent l\u2019accent sur des programmes pratiques et ax\u00e9s sur les comp\u00e9tences, con\u00e7us pour permettre aux dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s d\u2019int\u00e9grer rapidement le march\u00e9 du travail.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    Gr\u00e2ce au balado EdUp Canada, Sangster et ses invit\u00e9s souhaitent d\u00e9montrer comment les gens peuvent b\u00e2tir une carri\u00e8re enrichissante en acqu\u00e9rant les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires, faisant de la MRC un partenaire naturel.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    Sensibilisation<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    La collaboration entre la MRC et le NACC va au-del\u00e0 de la baladodiffusion. Elle comprend des activit\u00e9s d\u2019engagement en personne et virtuelles, la facilitation de l\u2019\u00e9valuation des programmes d\u2019instruction et d\u2019\u00e9tudes subventionn\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019intention des militaires du rang (PIESMR), ainsi que l\u2019\u00e9tablissement de partenariats par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire des divisions de la R\u00e9serve navale partout au pays.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    Mais ce sont les \u00e9pisodes enregistr\u00e9s en mer qui ont particuli\u00e8rement attir\u00e9 l\u2019attention du navire et de son \u00e9quipage. \u00c0 la question \u00ab Comment la Marine peut-elle nous parler? \u00bb, les marins du St. John\u2019s ont r\u00e9pondu de la mani\u00e8re la plus convaincante qui soit : en s\u2019exprimant directement depuis le navire, au large.
