Sensibiliser les \u00e9ducateurs au mode de vie militaire<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Par le Centre de ressources pour les familles des militaires d\u2019Halifax et r\u00e9gions (CRFM H&R)<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de d\u00e9m\u00e9nager dans une nouvelle r\u00e9gion, de faire face \u00e0 l\u2019absence soudaine d\u2019un parent ou de g\u00e9rer le d\u00e9ploiement prolong\u00e9 d\u2019un \u00eatre cher, les enfants de militaires et leurs familles sont confront\u00e9s \u00e0 une combinaison unique de d\u00e9fis et de perturbations dans leur vie et leurs habitudes. Ces exp\u00e9riences peuvent avoir un impact profond sur le bien-\u00eatre et l\u2019apprentissage des enfants, quel que soit leur \u00e2ge.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Les familles militaires d\u00e9m\u00e9nagent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement, trois fois plus souvent que les familles civiles, et se sentent parfois isol\u00e9es et incomprises. D\u00e9m\u00e9nager signifie que les enfants doivent s\u2019adapter \u00e0 de nouveaux environnements, \u00e0 de nouveaux modes de garde et \u00e0 de nouveaux programmes scolaires. Changer d\u2019\u00e9cole peut entra\u00eener des lacunes dans l\u2019apprentissage, les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ayant du mal \u00e0 rattraper le contenu manqu\u00e9 tout en s\u2019adaptant au rythme d\u2019un nouveau programme. Les enfants issus de familles militaires peuvent \u00e9galement \u00e9prouver toute une s\u00e9rie de sentiments et de difficult\u00e9s pendant l\u2019absence d\u2019un parent ou lors d\u2019un d\u00e9m\u00e9nagement dans une nouvelle communaut\u00e9.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lorsque les personnes qui s\u2019occupent ou travaillent avec des enfants de militaires (\u00e9ducateurs de la petite enfance, enseignants, conseillers scolaires, administrateurs de programmes) sont correctement inform\u00e9es des facteurs particuliers qui touchent ces enfants, les d\u00e9fis peuvent \u00eatre minimis\u00e9s et le niveau de soutien familial renforc\u00e9.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es, le CRFM H&R m\u00e8ne des initiatives de sensibilisation dans les \u00e9coles, organise des s\u00e9ances d\u2019information \u00e0 l\u2019intention des \u00e9ducateurs, propose des groupes de soutien ainsi que des ateliers aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves et fournit des ressources aux administrateurs scolaires. Comme les familles des militaires vivent de plus en plus souvent loin de leur base ou de leur escadre en raison de facteurs tels que le co\u00fbt et l\u2019offre de logements, il est devenu plus complexe et plus essentiel d\u2019atteindre ces familles et leurs \u00e9coles.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Afin d\u2019accro\u00eetre notre port\u00e9e et d\u2019\u00e9tendre notre soutien aux enfants de militaires dans la vaste zone g\u00e9ographique desservie par le CRFM H&R, nous avons d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 et lanc\u00e9 une nouvelle initiative : un cours en ligne autog\u00e9r\u00e9 sur le mode de vie militaire intitul\u00e9 \u00ab Educators Supporting Military-Connected Children \u00bb (les \u00e9ducateurs soutenant les enfants de militaires). Le d\u00e9veloppement de ce cours, ainsi que d\u2019autres ressources et outils, a \u00e9t\u00e9 rendu possible gr\u00e2ce au financement de Lockheed Martin.<\/p>\n

Il y a plus de 5 500 enfants issus de familles militaires dans la r\u00e9gion d\u2019Halifax. Shelley Hopkins, directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale du CRFM H&R, estime que \u00ab quel que soit l\u2019\u00e9tablissement scolaire ou de garde fr\u00e9quent\u00e9 par l\u2019enfant, ce cours en ligne aidera les \u00e9ducateurs \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir et \u00e0 comprendre les aspects uniques de la vie militaire et, par cons\u00e9quent, \u00e0 mieux soutenir les enfants et les familles de militaires. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Les familles militaires s\u2019adaptent et s\u2019int\u00e8grent efficacement dans leur nouvel environnement, mais la compr\u00e9hension des \u00e9ducateurs peut faire toute la diff\u00e9rence pour une transition sociale r\u00e9ussie et positive.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ce cours s\u2019adresse \u00e0 toute personne qui s\u2019occupe ou travaille avec des enfants de militaires. Le personnel de garde et les \u00e9ducateurs apprendront comment le mode de vie militaire affecte les enfants. Les informations sont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es de diff\u00e9rentes mani\u00e8res afin que les personnes qui n\u2019ont aucune connaissance pr\u00e9alable de la vie militaire puissent acqu\u00e9rir une compr\u00e9hension de base des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes, des d\u00e9fis auxquels sont confront\u00e9s les enfants de militaires et des forces qu\u2019ils poss\u00e8dent. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce cours, les \u00e9ducateurs ont \u00e9galement acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une communaut\u00e9 en ligne o\u00f9 ils peuvent trouver des ressources suppl\u00e9mentaires et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier du soutien des Navigateurs pour les familles des militaires du CRFM H&R.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
