Le navire ravitailleur de classe Berlin de la marine allemande, le FGS Berlin (A1411), est arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 Halifax le 27 ao\u00fbt apr\u00e8s avoir particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des op\u00e9rations avec le navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) William Hall et des alli\u00e9s dans le cadre de l'op\u00e9ration Nanook. Pendant son s\u00e9jour au port, le FGS Berlin a organis\u00e9 une r\u00e9ception pour les autorit\u00e9s locales, les dignitaires et les membres de la communaut\u00e9 navale.<\/p>\n

La conception de la classe Berlin sert \u00e9galement de base aux nouveaux navires de soutien interarm\u00e9es (NSI) du Canada, les futurs NCSM Protecteur et NCSM Preserver, actuellement en construction aux chantiers navals Seaspan \u00e0 Vancouver. Ces navires polyvalents, les plus longs et les plus lourds jamais construits au Canada, fourniront du carburant, des munitions, de la nourriture, des pi\u00e8ces de rechange et d'autres formes de soutien afin d'aider \u00e0 \u00e9tendre la port\u00e9e et les capacit\u00e9s des groupes op\u00e9rationnels canadiens et alli\u00e9s en mer. Le NCSM Protecteur se pr\u00e9pare actuellement pour des essais en mer, et sa livraison \u00e0 la Marine royale canadienne est d\u00e9sormais pr\u00e9vue pour le d\u00e9but de l'ann\u00e9e 2026.<\/p>\n
