Le Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Ville de Qu\u00e9bec a termin\u00e9 sa participation \u00e0 l'exercice Talisman Sabre 25, mettant ainsi un terme \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie d'op\u00e9rations dynamiques ayant permis \u00e0 la fr\u00e9gate de collaborer \u00e9troitement avec ses alli\u00e9s dans de nombreux domaines, en Australie et dans les environs.<\/p>\n

Selon la Marine royale canadienne (MRC), la fr\u00e9gate de classe Halifax a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le important dans cet exercice multinational, qui s'est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 du 13 juillet au 4 ao\u00fbt et qui a marqu\u00e9 le plus important d\u00e9ploiement militaire du Canada dans l'Indo-Pacifique depuis le lancement de l'op\u00e9ration Horizon. Organis\u00e9 par l'Australie et r\u00e9unissant plus de 35 000 militaires de 19 pays, l'exercice Talisman Sabre a \u00e9t\u00e9 l'occasion d'un entra\u00eenement interarm\u00e9es sur terre, en mer, dans les airs et dans le cyberespace.<\/p>\n

Pour le Ville de Qu\u00e9bec, l'un des faits saillants de l'exercice a pris la forme d'un r\u00e9armement avanc\u00e9 de missiles Harpoon Block II effectu\u00e9 \u00e0 Darwin, en Australie, une op\u00e9ration complexe r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en collaboration \u00e9troite avec les Forces de d\u00e9fense australiennes (ADF). C\u2019est la deuxi\u00e8me fois seulement qu\u2019un navire de guerre canadien est r\u00e9arm\u00e9 en dehors de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Nord, et les responsables affirment que cette avanc\u00e9e constitue une nouvelle \u00e9tape vers une agilit\u00e9 et une durabilit\u00e9 accrues pour les d\u00e9ploiements de la MRC dans la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Travailler avec l'\u00e9quipe de la Force de d\u00e9fense australienne pour d\u00e9velopper cette capacit\u00e9 avanc\u00e9e pour la Marine royale canadienne a \u00e9t\u00e9 une exp\u00e9rience formidable pour tout notre \u00e9quipage \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Capitaine de fr\u00e9gate Peter MacNeil, commandant du Ville de Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n

Le navire a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9arm\u00e9 \u00e0 deux reprises au cours de l\u2019exercice, d\u2019abord avec une variante inerte du missile pour un tir d'entra\u00eenement, suivi d\u2019un tir r\u00e9el r\u00e9ussi, puis avec une version op\u00e9rationnelle apr\u00e8s le lancement. Selon la MRC, le Harpoon Block II est un missile \u00e0 guidage de pr\u00e9cision capable d\u2019attaquer des cibles maritimes et terrestres, ce qui en fait un outil polyvalent pour la guerre navale moderne.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outre le tir de missile et le r\u00e9armement, le Ville de Qu\u00e9bec a op\u00e9r\u00e9 avec des alli\u00e9s tout au long de l\u2019exercice, notamment le groupe d\u2019attaque de porte-avions dirig\u00e9 par le Royaume-Uni et le groupe d\u2019attaque de porte-avions USS George Washington. La participation du navire a \u00e9galement servi des objectifs canadiens plus larges dans le cadre du d\u00e9ploiement en cours de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Horizon. L\u2019op\u00e9ration Horizon est une mission r\u00e9gionale permanente des FAC qui vise \u00e0 accro\u00eetre la stabilit\u00e9, \u00e0 \u00e9tablir des partenariats et \u00e0 renforcer l\u2019engagement du Canada en faveur d\u2019un Indo-Pacifique libre et ouvert.<\/p>\n

La contribution du Canada \u00e0 l'exercice Talisman Sabre 25 comprend environ 600 personnes provenant de l'ensemble des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC), y compris l\u2019Aviation royale canadienne, l\u2019Arm\u00e9e canadienne, les op\u00e9rations sp\u00e9ciales, les commandements cybern\u00e9tiques et spatiaux. L\u2019exercice est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme une vitrine de la capacit\u00e9 des FAC \u00e0 mener des op\u00e9rations conjointes et int\u00e9gr\u00e9es avec des partenaires internationaux cl\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Le Canada participe r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 Talisman Sabre, et l\u2019\u00e9dition 2025 de cet exercice biennal \u00e9tait la plus importante et la plus complexe \u00e0 ce jour, et la premi\u00e8re \u00e0 inclure des activit\u00e9s en Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guin\u00e9e en plus de l\u2019Australie.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019exercice \u00e9tant maintenant termin\u00e9, le Ville de Qu\u00e9bec poursuit son d\u00e9ploiement dans l\u2019Indo-Pacifique aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du groupe d\u2019attaque de porte-avions du Royaume-Uni dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Horizon. Le navire a d\u00e9j\u00e0 parcouru plus de 25 000 milles nautiques depuis son d\u00e9part d\u2019Halifax en avril, et il en reste encore \u00e0 parcourir avant son retour pr\u00e9vu \u00e0 la fin de l\u2019automne.<\/p>\n
