Le Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Harry DeWolf a une nouvelle voix \u00e0 la barre alors qu\u2019il se pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 naviguer vers Qu\u00e9bec pour son premier grand radoub.<\/p>\n

Le capitaine de fr\u00e9gate (Capf) Collin Forsberg a succ\u00e9d\u00e9 au Capf Jon Nicholson au poste de commandant lors d\u2019une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de changement de commandement qui s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e le 17 juin sur le pont d\u2019envol du navire.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le nouveau Cmdt du navire supervisera une premi\u00e8re pour la classe Harry DeWolf. En tant que navire principal de sa classe, mis en service en 2021, le NCSM Harry DeWolf est en premi\u00e8re ligne pour b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u2019une remise en \u00e9tat apr\u00e8s cinq ann\u00e9es de service.<\/p>\n

Le navire partira pour Qu\u00e9bec en juillet pour une p\u00e9riode de maintenance de 26 semaines au chantier naval Davie. Pendant cette p\u00e9riode, il b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiera d\u2019une modernisation de son mat\u00e9riel et d\u2019une maintenance compl\u00e8te. Le Harry DeWolf devrait \u00eatre remis en service actif au sein de la Flotte de l\u2019Atlantique d\u2019ici janvier 2026.<\/p>\n

Le Capf Forsberg est de retour sur la c\u00f4te Est apr\u00e8s avoir command\u00e9 le NCSM Max Bernays, supervisant son transfert aux Forces maritimes du Pacifique en ao\u00fbt 2024.<\/p>\n

Le Harry DeWolf sort d\u2019une p\u00e9riode de 18 mois bien remplie, men\u00e9e par le Capf Nicholson, qui \u00e9tait commandant depuis janvier 2024. Sous son commandement, le navire a men\u00e9 \u00e0 bien de nombreuses missions, notamment une op\u00e9ration r\u00e9ussie de recherche et sauvetage dans l\u2019Arctique, des patrouilles et des saisies de drogues dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Caribbe, ainsi que des activit\u00e9s de sensibilisation communautaire au nom de la Marine royale canadienne dans la r\u00e9gion des Grands Lacs.<\/p>\n

Dans son discours d\u2019adieu, le Capf Nicholson a remerci\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9quipage pour avoir relev\u00e9 tous les d\u00e9fis malgr\u00e9 un emploi du temps charg\u00e9.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le commandant de la Flotte de l\u2019Atlantique, le commodore (Cmdre) Jacob French, \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent pour superviser le changement de commandement. Il a \u00e9galement f\u00e9licit\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9quipage du Harry DeWolf et le commandant sortant pour avoir men\u00e9 \u00ab l\u2019un des programmes les plus vari\u00e9s que j\u2019ai jamais vus \u00bb avec expertise et professionnalisme.<\/p>\n
