La Musique royale de la Marine norv\u00e9gienne s'est rendue pour la toute premi\u00e8re fois en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse afin de souligner le 80e anniversaire de la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Le 25 juin, la Musique Stadacona de la Marine royale canadienne et la Musique de la Marine royale norv\u00e9gienne ont donn\u00e9 un concert commun \u00e0 Halifax. C\u2019\u00e9tait la premi\u00e8re fois que l\u2019ensemble norv\u00e9gien se produisait dans la ville. Organis\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019auditorium Rebecca Cohn et intitul\u00e9 Liaisons atlantiques : un hommage en harmonie, l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement a mis en lumi\u00e8re les traditions navales des deux pays \u00e0 travers la musique, tout en soulignant un lien historique de longue date.<\/p>\n

Les liens entre la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse et la Norv\u00e8ge remontent \u00e0 la Seconde Guerre mondiale, et le programme du concert refl\u00e9tait ce pass\u00e9 commun avec des s\u00e9lections rendant hommage au service militaire, aux compositeurs nationaux et aux \u00e9l\u00e9ments marquants de la culture des deux nations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Dans le cadre de ses activit\u00e9s de sensibilisation lors de ses voyages \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger, le groupe norv\u00e9gien souhaitait pr\u00e9senter sa culture au Canada, et nous sommes ravis qu\u2019il se soit joint \u00e0 nous \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le matelot-chef (Matc) Tony Taylor de la Musique Stadacona, un joueur de tuba qui assume souvent le r\u00f4le de ma\u00eetre de c\u00e9r\u00e9monie lors de concerts ou d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Les deux orchestres se sont produits s\u00e9par\u00e9ment : les Canadiens ont ouvert la soir\u00e9e, suivis d\u2019un bref entracte, avant que les Norv\u00e9giens ne montent sur sc\u00e8ne.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le programme de la Musique Stadacona comprenait une interpr\u00e9tation de White Squall, du l\u00e9gendaire auteur-compositeur canadien Stan Rogers, dans un arrangement du matelot de 1re classe (Mat 1) Nathaniel Jenkins, avec le ma\u00eetre de 1re classe Brad Davidge au chant principal. Parmi les autres moments forts figuraient des solos \u00e9nergiques de trompette et de trombone interpr\u00e9t\u00e9s respectivement par le Mat 1 Cameron Milligan et le Mat 1 Jenkins, lors de l\u2019ex\u00e9cution de Fandango de Joseph Turrin, ainsi que des \u0153uvres de compositeurs norv\u00e9giens, dont Marche d\u2019entr\u00e9e des Boyars (Bojarenes Indtogsmarsch) de Johan Halvorsen.<\/p>\n

Les plus jeunes spectateurs ont peut-\u00eatre reconnu des airs lors d\u2019un medley de chansons tir\u00e9es du film de Disney How to Train Your Dragon, choisi en partie pour son univers inspir\u00e9 de la culture nordique.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Notre partie du concert \u00e9tait un clin d\u2019\u0153il aux Norv\u00e9giens, tout en int\u00e9grant nos propres traditions canadiennes. Le r\u00e9pertoire du groupe norv\u00e9gien \u00e9tait fortement ancr\u00e9 dans la musique norv\u00e9gienne et les \u0153uvres de leurs principaux compositeurs \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Matc Taylor.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Parmi les pi\u00e8ces interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es par les Norv\u00e9giens figuraient Requiem des marins de guerre (Krigsseilerrekviem), command\u00e9e en 2020 \u00e0 l\u2019occasion du 200e anniversaire de l\u2019orchestre, ainsi que La Croix de guerre (Krigskorset), une autre \u0153uvre r\u00e9cemment compos\u00e9e pour honorer les r\u00e9cipiendaires de la plus haute distinction militaire norv\u00e9gienne. Le programme incluait \u00e9galement des classiques de compositeurs norv\u00e9giens, fran\u00e7ais et espagnols.<\/p>\n

Les deux ensembles ne se sont pas seulement produits ensemble sur la sc\u00e8ne du Rebecca Cohn, ils faisaient \u00e9galement partie de la programmation du Tattoo royal international de la \nNouvelle-\u00c9cosse, qui a d\u00e9but\u00e9 deux jours plus tard. Des formations militaires du Royaume-Uni, d\u2019Allemagne et des Pays-Bas ont rejoint la Musique Stadacona et la Musique de la Marine royale norv\u00e9gienne sur la sc\u00e8ne du Tattoo. Les Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC) \u00e9taient aussi repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es par la Musique de la Garde de c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de l\u2019Arm\u00e9e canadienne, la Musique composite de la 5e Division du Canada, et le corps de cornemuses de la 12e Escadre Shearwater.<\/p>\n

Pour la Musique de la Marine royale norv\u00e9gienne, le s\u00e9jour en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse comprenait \u00e9galement une journ\u00e9e historiquement significative \u00e0 Lunenburg. En plus d\u2019un concert, l\u2019ensemble a visit\u00e9 le site du Camp Norway, un centre de formation \u00e9tabli pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale pour les marins norv\u00e9giens, ainsi que le cimeti\u00e8re Hillcrest, o\u00f9 plusieurs Norv\u00e9giens ont \u00e9t\u00e9 inhum\u00e9s durant les ann\u00e9es de guerre.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
