\u00c0 bord, le Sgt Safire s\u2019est compl\u00e8tement immerg\u00e9 dans la vie en mer, s\u2019int\u00e9grant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quipage, montant \u00e0 bord d\u2019un canot de sauvetage polyvalent et apprenant tout ce qu\u2019il pouvait sur les exigences du service naval.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Ils ont des t\u00e2ches suppl\u00e9mentaires \u00e0 bord, ils doivent assurer diff\u00e9rents quarts \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents moments et ils doivent \u00eatre pr\u00eats \u00e0 se lever \u00e0 tout moment, m\u00eame en plein sommeil, pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 toute crise ou urgence. Cela m\u2019a donn\u00e9 un nouveau respect pour ce qu\u2019ils font, comment ils le font et pourquoi ils s\u2019entra\u00eenent. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Quant aux conditions \u00e0 bord, il a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab D\u2019apr\u00e8s ce que j\u2019ai vu ici, le moral est tr\u00e8s bon, ce qui se traduit par une \u00e9quipe soud\u00e9e et forte. Si vous preniez quelqu\u2019un du XIXe si\u00e8cle, que vous le mettiez sur un navire moderne et que vous lui montriez comment cela fonctionne, toutes les commodit\u00e9s comme une infirmerie pour soigner les maux et les blessures, et le fait que les rations durent beaucoup plus longtemps, je pense qu\u2019il croirait \u00eatre mort et mont\u00e9 au paradis. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cette exp\u00e9rience visait \u00e0 honorer le pass\u00e9, \u00e0 perp\u00e9tuer l\u2019h\u00e9ritage de William Hall, \u00e0 apprendre les uns des autres et \u00e0 rassembler les communaut\u00e9s pour se souvenir de ce que signifient le service et le sacrifice pour le Canada.<\/p>\n

\u00ab La plupart des membres des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes ne font pas cela uniquement pour leur travail ou leur carri\u00e8re, mais parce qu\u2019ils ont le sens du devoir et le d\u00e9sir d\u2019appartenir \u00e0 quelque chose de plus grand. L\u2019\u00e9quipage du NCSM William Hall est ici pour repr\u00e9senter les Canadiens et pour faire son devoir lorsqu\u2019on lui demande. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Ce sens du devoir s\u2019est concr\u00e9tis\u00e9 les 29 et 31 mai, ainsi que le 8 juin, lorsque l\u2019\u00e9quipage, avec un d\u00e9tachement de la Garde c\u00f4ti\u00e8re am\u00e9ricaine (USCG) embarqu\u00e9, a men\u00e9 avec succ\u00e8s trois op\u00e9rations distinctes qui ont permis de saisir au total plus de 1 545 kg de coca\u00efne dans la mer des Cara\u00efbes, alors qu\u2019il \u00e9tait d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration CARIBBE 25-02. De telles contributions aux op\u00e9rations renforc\u00e9es de lutte contre les stup\u00e9fiants men\u00e9es par les \u00c9tats-Unis dans le cadre de la Force op\u00e9rationnelle interorganisationnelle interarm\u00e9es \u2013 Sud continuent de rendre le continent plus s\u00fbr face aux menaces que repr\u00e9sente le trafic illicite et d\u00e9montrent que l\u2019esprit de William Hall, VC, perdure \u00e0 travers les actions de ceux qui servent aujourd\u2019hui.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
