Le marin du trimestre fait preuve d\u2019un \u00ab d\u00e9vouement sans faille \u00bb \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard du navire et de ses co\u00e9quipiers<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

Le Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Charlottetown a r\u00e9cemment termin\u00e9 une p\u00e9riode d\u2019entretien, mais pendant que le navire \u00e9tait \u00e0 quai, il n\u2019y a pas eu de temps mort pour le dernier marin du trimestre de la Flotte canadienne de l\u2019Atlantique (FLTCANANT), qui s\u2019est affair\u00e9 \u00e0 soutenir le navire et l\u2019\u00e9quipage en vue de futurs d\u00e9ploiements.<\/p>\n

Le pont d\u2019envol du Charlottetown \u00e9tait bond\u00e9 le matin du 6 juin, lorsque l\u2019\u00e9quipage du navire s\u2019est rassembl\u00e9 pour voir le matelot-chef (Matc) Kyle Aubie accepter le prix des mains du commodore (Cmdre) Jacob French, commandant de la FLTCANANT.<\/p>\n

Le Matc Aubie a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 marin du trimestre apr\u00e8s avoir supervis\u00e9 les r\u00e9parations structurelles du Charlottetown en tant que ma\u00eetre de 2e classe (M 2) par int\u00e9rim.<\/p>\n

Technicien maritime de m\u00e9tier, il a assum\u00e9 d\u2019importantes responsabilit\u00e9s dans le cadre de ses fonctions int\u00e9rimaires. Conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 ses sup\u00e9rieurs, le Matc Aubie a supervis\u00e9 des projets de maintenance de grande envergure \u00e0 bord du Charlottetown, notamment en dirigeant tous les travaux de soudage et de d\u00e9coupage, en g\u00e9rant les contraintes de main-d\u2019\u0153uvre et en assurant la coordination avec les entrepreneurs non militaires.<\/p>\n

Il a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnu pour les nombreuses heures qu\u2019il a pass\u00e9es \u00e0 diriger les exercices de formation de l\u2019\u00e9quipage. Le Matc Aubie a organis\u00e9 de nombreuses conf\u00e9rences et d\u00e9monstrations pour les membres de l\u2019\u00e9quipage du Charlottetown, ainsi que pour ses coll\u00e8gues \u00e0 bord du MV Asterix, offrant souvent de son temps personnel pour les aider \u00e0 se pr\u00e9parer au d\u00e9ploiement.<\/p>\n

Selon le Matc Aubie, il lui a fallu du temps pour s\u2019adapter aux exigences du r\u00f4le de M 2 int\u00e9rimaire, mais il a fini par trouver son rythme de croisi\u00e8re.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Il m\u2019a fallu quelques semaines pour m\u2019habituer \u00e0 travailler un ou deux postes au-dessus du mien. Mais \u00e0 la fin, j\u2019ai fini par appr\u00e9cier la situation. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le capitaine de fr\u00e9gate (Capf) Jonathan Maurice, commandant du Charlottetown, a salu\u00e9 \u00ab l\u2019\u00e9thique de travail, le professionnalisme et le d\u00e9vouement in\u00e9branlable \u00bb du Matc Aubie, qui a occup\u00e9 des postes d\u2019importance critique pendant la p\u00e9riode de maintenance du navire.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s la remise du prix, le Cmdre French a remerci\u00e9 le Matc Aubie d\u2019avoir si bien repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le Charlottetown et d\u2019avoir servi de mod\u00e8le et de mentor aux jeunes marins.<\/p>\n

Le Cmdre French a \u00e9galement souhait\u00e9 bonne chance \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quipage rassembl\u00e9, alors que l\u2019\u00e9quipe se pr\u00e9parait \u00e0 partir pour l\u2019exercice Cutlass Fury. L\u2019exercice multinational s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 du 9 au 18 juin, avant la Semaine internationale de la flotte \u00e0 Halifax, et s\u2019est concentr\u00e9 sur la guerre anti-sous-marine aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des alli\u00e9s de l\u2019OTAN.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Il s\u2019agissait de la premi\u00e8re mission d\u2019envergure pour le Charlottetown depuis son retour de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Reassurance \u00e0 la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re. Le Matc Aubie se r\u00e9jouit de ce changement de rythme.<\/p>\n
