Chelsea Gear \u00e9tait submerg\u00e9e par l'\u00e9motion alors qu'elle se tenait sur la jet\u00e9e et faisait au revoir de la main \u00e0 son mari, le matelot de 1re classe Nicholas Gear, \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des jeunes enfants du couple, alors qu'il partait \u00e0 bord du Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Ville de Qu\u00e9bec pour l'Indo-Pacifique le 7 avril. <\/span>en <\/span><\/i>for the Indo-Pacific on April 7.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Partant d'Halifax, le Ville de Qu\u00e9bec effectuera son tout premier d\u00e9ploiement dans la r\u00e9gion indo-pacifique, sous la banni\u00e8re de l'op\u00e9ration Horizon. Le navire doit rejoindre le groupe a\u00e9ronaval d\u2019attaque multinational du Royaume-Uni, qui a r\u00e9cemment entam\u00e9 sa propre mission dans la r\u00e9gion indo-pacifique, pour participer \u00e0 des man\u0153uvres et \u00e0 des exercices d'entra\u00eenement, notamment ax\u00e9s sur la lutte anti-sous-marine.<\/p>\n

Le groupe a\u00e9ronaval sera form\u00e9 autour du porte-avions HMS Prince of Wales et d'autres destroyers et fr\u00e9gates de la Royal Navy, avec le soutien de partenaires tels que l'Espagne et la Norv\u00e8ge, en plus du r\u00f4le du NCSM Ville de Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n

Op Horizon vise \u00e0 soutenir les objectifs de la Strat\u00e9gie indo-pacifique du Canada en renfor\u00e7ant la pr\u00e9sence des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes dans la r\u00e9gion, en participant \u00e0 davantage d'exercices conjoints et en renfor\u00e7ant les partenariats avec les forces arm\u00e9es r\u00e9gionales. Le navire pr\u00e9voit de naviguer avec des alli\u00e9s dans le cadre du groupe a\u00e9ronaval jusqu'\u00e0 son retour \u00e0 Halifax en novembre. Le voyage comprendra un tour du monde.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alors que le Ville de Qu\u00e9bec s'appr\u00eatait \u00e0 quitter la jet\u00e9e de l'arsenal maritime canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9, la Musique Stadacona jouait et les proches des 242 marins de la fr\u00e9gate acceptaient de se s\u00e9parer pendant plus de six mois.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C'est triste de se dire au revoir et nous esp\u00e9rons juste que tout ira bien \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Shirly Park, m\u00e8re du matelot-chef (Matc) Jordan Park.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

C'est le troisi\u00e8me d\u00e9ploiement de Matc Park et son premier service dans son grade actuel. C'est \u00e9galement la premi\u00e8re fois que sa famille, qui vit \u00e0 Terre-Neuve, a pu faire le voyage pour venir le voir partir. Son p\u00e8re et son fr\u00e8re \u00e9taient \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sents pour le soutenir.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La famille Park a long\u00e9 la jet\u00e9e pendant que l'\u00e9quipage du navire effectuait les derniers pr\u00e9paratifs avant le d\u00e9part. Quelques minutes avant le d\u00e9part, ils ont pu faire une derni\u00e8re tourn\u00e9e d'adieux avec le Matc Park, qui se tenait sur le pont avec ses camarades marins.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shirly a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que malgr\u00e9 les \u00e9motions mitig\u00e9es de la famille, elle sait que le Matc Park se r\u00e9jouit de ses nouvelles responsabilit\u00e9s de commandement en tant que matelot-chef \u00e0 bord du Ville de Qu\u00e9bec. <\/span>en<\/span><\/i>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Capf MacNeil a soulign\u00e9 l'importance du soutien des familles pendant une longue mission, et a \u00e9galement remerci\u00e9 les organisations de soutien \u00e0 terre et les coll\u00e8gues de la flotte de l'Atlantique pour leur aide au cours des derniers mois.<\/span><\/p>\n
