Le conditionnement physique a une incidence directe sur la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 accomplir des t\u00e2ches exigeantes, \u00e0 r\u00e9agir aux situations d\u2019urgence et \u00e0 maintenir la disponibilit\u00e9 op\u00e9rationnelle, ainsi que sur la r\u00e9silience mentale, puisqu\u2019il aide les marins \u00e0 g\u00e9rer le stress et \u00e0 rester concentr\u00e9s, et leur procure un sentiment de bien-\u00eatre g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Les membres de l\u2019\u00e9quipage du NCSM Harry DeWolf qui ont surmont\u00e9 les difficult\u00e9s li\u00e9es au maintien de la forme physique en mer se sont port\u00e9s volontaires pour tenir des s\u00e9ances d\u2019entra\u00eenement physique. Parmi eux, le sp\u00e9cialiste principal en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9, le technicien principal en m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie, le ma\u00eetre de la lutte contre les avaries, le m\u00e9canicien du pont sup\u00e9rieur, l\u2019officier de l\u2019armement et l\u2019adjoint de l\u2019officier de marine \u2013 service technique ont g\u00e9n\u00e9reusement donn\u00e9 de leur temps pour offrir des s\u00e9ances d\u2019entra\u00eenement physique (des mesures sp\u00e9ciales de protection de l\u2019identit\u00e9 sont en place pour l\u2019op\u00e9ration CARIBBE, c\u2019est pourquoi les militaires sont d\u00e9sign\u00e9s ici par leur titre de poste).<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">\u00ab Je suis convaincu que si vous n\u2019adoptez pas une routine \u00e0 bord, vous vous exposez \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chec \u00e0 bien des \u00e9gards. Les bienfaits de l\u2019entra\u00eenement ne se limitent pas aux capacit\u00e9s physiques. Donner de mon temps pour motiver mes subordonn\u00e9s, mes pairs et mes superviseurs est \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s important pour moi \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le sp\u00e9cialiste principal en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 du NCSM Harry DeWolf.<\/p>\n<p>Le technicien principal en m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie \u00e0 bord du navire a tenu b\u00e9n\u00e9volement des s\u00e9ances de conditionnement physique presque tous les jours, lorsque la mer le permettait, et souvent plusieurs fois par jour. \u00ab J\u2019accorde beaucoup d\u2019importance \u00e0 ma forme physique et \u00e0 ma sant\u00e9. Chaque fois que j\u2019en ai l\u2019occasion, je suis heureux de faire profiter les autres de mes connaissances et de les encourager \u00e0 faire de l\u2019exercice \u00bb, a-t-il expliqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019espace confin\u00e9 d\u2019un navire de guerre constitue un obstacle \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re qui oblige les marins \u00e0 faire preuve de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 dans leur entra\u00eenement. Le pont d\u2019envol devient souvent une salle de sport improvis\u00e9e, o\u00f9 les marins peuvent faire des exercices au poids du corps, des s\u00e9ances d\u2019entra\u00eenement contre r\u00e9sistance et des cours de conditionnement physique en groupe.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipement \u00e9tant limit\u00e9, les marins ont recours \u00e0 du mat\u00e9riel portable et polyvalent, comme des tapis de yoga, des bandes de r\u00e9sistance et des kettlebells, pour un entra\u00eenement complet du corps. Le navire est \u00e9galement \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019une petite salle de sport, o\u00f9 les marins peuvent varier leurs exercices gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des appareils d\u2019entra\u00eenement cardiovasculaire, des poids libres et d\u2019autres appareils de conditionnement physique, ce qui leur permet d\u2019avoir une routine d\u2019entra\u00eenement bien \u00e9quilibr\u00e9e. \u00ab Nous avons la chance d\u2019avoir \u00e0 bord une quantit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9quipements plus que suffisante pour s\u2019entra\u00eener comme il se doit. Parfois, nous utilisons notre propre poids et d\u2019autres fois, nous avons recours aux \u00e9quipements pour augmenter l\u2019intensit\u00e9. Nous profitons de l\u2019espace dont nous disposons et nous avons la chance autant de place ici \u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 le technicien principal en m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie.<\/p>\n<p>Le mouvement du navire est une difficult\u00e9 suppl\u00e9mentaire. \u00ab Pour ma part, j\u2019ai du mal \u00e0 me motiver lorsque la mer est agit\u00e9e. Le principal obstacle auquel j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9 pour faire de l\u2019exercice en mer est l\u2019\u00e9tat de la mer. Faire de l\u2019exercice sur une plate-forme en mouvement oblige les marins \u00e0 solliciter constamment leurs muscles abdominaux pour maintenir leur \u00e9quilibre. Cela peut accro\u00eetre l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 de l\u2019entra\u00eenement, mais augmente \u00e9galement le risque de blessure. Comme tout le monde a des quarts de travail diff\u00e9rents, il est difficile de r\u00e9unir tout le monde aussi souvent. J\u2019offre donc deux ou trois cours par jour. Parfois, la mer n\u2019est pas de notre c\u00f4t\u00e9 et le navire tangue dans tous les sens, mais cela ne fait que renforcer l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 de l\u2019entra\u00eenement. La s\u00e9curit\u00e9 est primordiale, mais on ne fait jamais autant travailler ses muscles stabilisateurs que lorsqu\u2019on affronte les vents, les vagues et la houle. C\u2019est comme faire des planches abdominales dans un man\u00e8ge. C\u2019est un peu ce que c\u2019est que de s\u2019entra\u00eener sur un navire \u00bb, a affirm\u00e9 le technicien principal en m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie.<\/p>\n<p>Outre les bienfaits physiologiques et mentaux, l\u2019exercice physique offre de pr\u00e9cieuses occasions d\u2019interaction sociale et de renforcement de l\u2019esprit d\u2019\u00e9quipe. La participation \u00e0 des cours de conditionnement physique en groupe, \u00e0 des sports d\u2019\u00e9quipe ou m\u00eame \u00e0 des exercices occasionnels avec des amis peut favoriser un sentiment d\u2019appartenance et de soutien. Cet aspect social de l\u2019exercice peut aider \u00e0 combattre le sentiment de solitude et d\u2019isolement, qui est l\u2019un des facteurs les plus communs contribuant \u00e0 une mauvaise sant\u00e9 mentale.<\/p>\n<p>Pour ceux qui cherchent \u00e0 maintenir et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer leur condition physique pendant les d\u00e9ploiements en mer, le technicien principal en m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie a des conseils \u00e0 donner : \u00ab J\u2019ai trois conseils principaux que je ne cesse de r\u00e9p\u00e9ter aux membres de mon \u00e9quipage. Il faut manger sainement, peu importe qui vous \u00eates. J\u2019encourage tout le monde \u00e0 prendre cela au s\u00e9rieux. Tout commence par ce que nous mangeons. Une alimentation saine b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiera \u00e0 tous les aspects de votre vie, y compris les deux points suivants. Ensuite, il faut bien se reposer. Je le dis \u00e0 tout le monde : essayez de dormir huit heures. C\u2019est tr\u00e8s important pour la sant\u00e9 mentale et physique, et pour la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration. Enfin, faites de l\u2019exercice. Ne n\u00e9gociez pas avec votre esprit, mais habituez vous \u00e0 vous entra\u00eener. Dix minutes suffisent. Quarante-cinq minutes par semaine. Nous devons apprendre \u00e0 nous motiver nous-m\u00eames quand la motivation ne vient pas des autres. On a toujours le temps de prendre soin de sa sant\u00e9. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab J\u2019encourage tous les membres \u00e0 participer \u00e0 l\u2019une des s\u00e9ances de conditionnement physique, peu importe la forme physique qu\u2019ils pensent avoir. J\u2019ai adapt\u00e9 mes s\u00e9ances pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins de chaque membre de l\u2019\u00e9quipage, tout comme l\u2019ont fait beaucoup d\u2019autres personnes qui offrent des s\u00e9ances d\u2019entra\u00eenement physique. J\u2019organise mes s\u00e9ances de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 ce que ceux qui ont besoin d\u2019un d\u00e9fi puissent se d\u00e9passer, et que ceux qui ne s\u2019entra\u00eenent pas beaucoup puissent eux aussi y participer \u00e0 leur niveau et en tirer profit \u00bb, a conclu le sp\u00e9cialiste principal en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Que ce soit au lever ou au
