Nous sommes nombreux \u00e0 conna\u00eetre le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre discours de Martin Luther King Jr. intitul\u00e9 \u00ab I Have a Dream. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le r\u00eave du Dr King \u00e9tait qu'un jour, ses enfants et les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations futures ne soient pas jug\u00e9s sur la couleur de leur peau, mais sur la qualit\u00e9 de leur caract\u00e8re.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Depuis que le Dr King a prononc\u00e9 ces paroles pleines d'espoir et d'inspiration lors de la Marche sur Washington en 1963, ce r\u00eave d'une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 pleinement inclusive et impartiale n'est pas pleinement r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00e0 bien des \u00e9gards. En tant qu'aum\u00f4nier, je trouve d\u00e9courageant qu'en 2025, certains membres de l'\u00e9quipe de la D\u00e9fense soient encore victimes d'irrespect, de discrimination et de difficult\u00e9s en raison de leur personnalit\u00e9.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Je crois personnellement que Dieu a cr\u00e9\u00e9 toute l'humanit\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re \u00e9gale et que tous les \u00eatres humains m\u00e9ritent le respect, en tant que principe fondamental. Il n'y a personne de plus grand ou de moins grand que les autres. Mais ma foi personnelle mise \u00e0 part, en tant que membres de l'\u00e9quipe de la D\u00e9fense, nous m\u00e9ritons tous un traitement juste, respectueux et \u00e9quitable, quel que soit le moment ou la situation.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L' <\/span>\u00e9nonc\u00e9 d'\u00e9thique de la D\u00e9fense <\/span><\/a> contient une hi\u00e9rarchie de trois principes g\u00e9n\u00e9raux et de comportements attendus :\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

(1) Respecter la dignit\u00e9 de toutes les personnes ;\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

(2) Servir le Canada avant soi-m\u00eame ; et\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

(3) Ob\u00e9ir et soutenir l'autorit\u00e9 l\u00e9gitime.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ce n'est pas pour rien que le premier principe de l'\u00e9thique de la d\u00e9fense est \u00ab respecter la dignit\u00e9 de toutes les personnes \u00bb. Tout commence l\u00e0. Si nous ne pouvons pas respecter la personne qui se tient \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de nous, dans nos rangs ou dans notre environnement de travail, alors nous ne pouvons pas travailler ensemble en tant qu'unit\u00e9 coh\u00e9sive pour accomplir notre mission commune de d\u00e9fendre notre pays, ses int\u00e9r\u00eats et ses valeurs tout en contribuant \u00e0 la paix et \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 internationales.<\/p>\n

Nous devons pouvoir faire confiance aux personnes avec lesquelles nous travaillons. Notre profession est une profession dans laquelle il peut arriver que nos vies soient en jeu. Dans ces moments-l\u00e0, nous devons savoir que la personne \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de nous a l'int\u00e9grit\u00e9, la loyaut\u00e9 et le courage de servir et de prot\u00e9ger tout le monde, quels que soient ses ant\u00e9c\u00e9dents ou sa situation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Donc, si nous entendons quelqu'un faire un commentaire irrespectueux, parlons et d\u00e9fendons nos pairs. Si nous restons silencieux dans ces moments-l\u00e0, cela en dit long. Continuons \u00e0 d\u00e9fendre nos valeurs et notre \u00e9thique. Que nos paroles et nos actions repr\u00e9sentent ce que nous sommes en tant que membres des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes et employ\u00e9s du minist\u00e8re de la D\u00e9fense nationale.<\/span> and Department of National Defence employees.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nous faisons tous partie de la m\u00eame \u00e9quipe. Nous sommes issus d'une fi\u00e8re tradition. Honorons ceux qui nous ont pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s et ceux qui suivront notre exemple en respectant toujours la dignit\u00e9 de chacun.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
