Le 17 octobre 2024, la Base de soutien de la 5e Division du Canada Gagetown \u00e0 Oromocto, au Nouveau-Brunswick, a accueilli plus de 400 membres des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC), ainsi que des militaires de neuf pays partenaires, dans le cadre de l\u2019exercice Ardent Defender 2024 \u2013 un exercice international de lutte contre la menace explosive dirig\u00e9 par l\u2019Arm\u00e9e canadienne.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pendant deux semaines, les meilleurs et les plus brillants sp\u00e9cialistes de la neutralisation des explosifs et munitions (NEM) du Canada, de l\u2019Australie, de l\u2019Autriche, de la Belgique, de la France, des Pays-Bas, de la Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande, de la Su\u00e8de, du Royaume-Uni et des \u00c9tats-Unis ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019exercice Ardent Defender 2024. L\u2019objectif de l\u2019exercice est de valider les comp\u00e9tences des militaires, d\u2019am\u00e9liorer l\u2019interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 et de faire la d\u00e9monstration des efforts de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 collective d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s par les pays partenaires et alli\u00e9s afin de dissuader les adversaires potentiels d\u2019utiliser des explosifs conventionnels et non conventionnels.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le d\u00e9veloppement de comp\u00e9tences sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es, telles que la d\u00e9tection et la neutralisation des explosifs et munitions, permet aux troupes d\u2019exercer leurs activit\u00e9s quotidiennes, de se d\u00e9placer et de combattre en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9 sur le champ de bataille.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Responsable de la planification, de la coordination et de l\u2019ex\u00e9cution de l\u2019exercice Ardent Defender au Canada, la Force op\u00e9rationnelle interarm\u00e9es contre la menace explosive des FAC est l\u2019autorit\u00e9 en mati\u00e8re de mise en \u0153uvre et de coordination des activit\u00e9s de lutte contre la menace explosive pour le compte des FAC. Cette force op\u00e9rationnelle entretient des relations avec les alli\u00e9s de l\u2019OTAN qui partagent un mandat strat\u00e9gique similaire afin d\u2019accro\u00eetre l\u2019interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 et de renforcer les capacit\u00e9s de neutralisation des explosifs et munitions et d\u2019exploitation en campagne de chacun.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019instauration d\u2019un climat de confiance entre les pays alli\u00e9s et le renforcement de l\u2019interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 ont jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le primordial dans la r\u00e9ussite de l\u2019exercice. La r\u00e9alisation de ces objectifs a \u00e9t\u00e9 rendue possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une \u00e9quipe de membres des FAC assidus, dirig\u00e9e par le major Vincent Dupont, directeur de l\u2019exercice Ardent Defender 2024, qui a supervis\u00e9 la pr\u00e9paration, la planification et l\u2019ex\u00e9cution de l\u2019exercice d\u2019entra\u00eenement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019exercice Ardent Defender est l\u2019un des plus anciens exercices d\u2019entra\u00eenement continu men\u00e9s aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de nos alli\u00e9s de l\u2019OTAN. Il rassemble les militaires de diff\u00e9rents pays, unis par un objectif commun d\u2019excellence professionnelle, de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 collective et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 mondiale.
