Le contre-amiral Daniel Charlebois, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la capacit\u00e9 des navires futurs, s'est joint \u00e0 ses coll\u00e8gues des marines canadienne et am\u00e9ricaine, ainsi qu'\u00e0 des repr\u00e9sentants de l'industrie, pour inaugurer le nouveau centre.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Le syst\u00e8me de combat AEGIS sera responsable de la d\u00e9fense a\u00e9rienne et antimissile int\u00e9gr\u00e9e de la nouvelle classe de navires, ce qui permettra d'assurer la d\u00e9fense a\u00e9rienne globale d'un groupe op\u00e9rationnel entier. AEGIS est actuellement utilis\u00e9 en mer par les marines des pays alli\u00e9s, notamment les \u00c9tats-Unis, le Japon, l'Espagne, la Cor\u00e9e, la Norv\u00e8ge et l'Australie.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">L'ouverture du centre a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crite comme un chapitre important sur la voie de la livraison \u00e9ventuelle des DCFR au Canada. Une fois que le logiciel AEGIS aura \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 pour la MRC, il sera livr\u00e9 \u00e0 l'installation d'essai terrestre qui sera construite \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur d'Halifax, dans Eastern Passage.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Anciennement connu sous le nom de projet de combattant de surface canadien, le projet DCFR pr\u00e9voit la construction de 15 navires de classe Fleuves et rivi\u00e8res pour le Canada afin de remplacer les destroyers de la classe Iroquois et les fr\u00e9gates de la classe Halifax qui sont actuellement en service.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Les navires seront construits par Irving Shipbuilding \u00e0 Halifax, qui est \u00e9galement le contracteur principal, tandis qu'Irving et Lockheed Martin Canada ont dirig\u00e9 la partie conception du projet.
