Honorer le pass\u00e9, inspirer l'avenir: Journ\u00e9e nationale de comm\u00e9moration et d\u2019action contre la violence faite aux femmes

Alors que le Canada s'appr\u00eate \u00e0 c\u00e9l\u00e9brer la Journ\u00e9e nationale de comm\u00e9moration et d\u2019action contre la violence faite aux femmes le 6 d\u00e9cembre 2024, nous nous trouvons \u00e0 un moment poignant de r\u00e9flexion et d'engagement collectif pour lutter contre une maladie soci\u00e9tale persistante. La comm\u00e9moration des 14 jeunes femmes qui ont perdu la vie lors du massacre de l'\u00c9cole \nPolytechnique n'est pas seulement un souvenir de la trag\u00e9die ; c'est un rappel puissant de la violence syst\u00e9mique qui continue d'affecter les femmes \u00e0 travers le pays. Les statistiques donnent \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir : plus de 80 000 femmes ont signal\u00e9 des violences physiques ou sexuelles rien qu'en 2022, les femmes autochtones \u00e9tant trois fois plus touch\u00e9es que leurs homologues non autochtones. Ces donn\u00e9es soulignent la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 urgente pour tous les Canadiens de d\u00e9passer la simple reconnaissance de ces probl\u00e8mes et de profiter de cette journ\u00e9e pour galvaniser l'action contre une culture qui, trop souvent, normalise la violence \u00e0 l'\u00e9gard des femmes. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

En s'unissant pour cette cause, il est essentiel de reconna\u00eetre que la responsabilit\u00e9 d'initier le changement va au-del\u00e0 des initiatives gouvernementales et des cadres institutionnels ; elle exige la participation active des individus et des communaut\u00e9s. Les organisations locales jouent un r\u00f4le de plus en plus important en organisant des \u00e9v\u00e9nements et des d\u00e9bats ax\u00e9s sur l'\u00e9ducation au consentement, au respect et \u00e0 la promotion de relations saines. En outre, les lieux de travail commencent \u00e0 mettre en \u0153uvre des politiques de soutien pour les employ\u00e9s victimes de violence, ce qui t\u00e9moigne d'une compr\u00e9hension plus large de la question en tant que probl\u00e8me sur le lieu de travail et dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. En ce jour de comm\u00e9moration, alors que nous allumons des bougies en l'honneur des vies perdues, que ce soit un puissant appel \u00e0 l'action : un engagement collectif \u00e0 affronter et \u00e0 d\u00e9manteler les normes soci\u00e9tales qui favorisent la violence, garantissant un avenir o\u00f9 chaque femme et chaque fille peut vivre librement, sans peur, dans un monde construit sur le respect, l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour tous. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Des rubans blancs comm\u00e9morant la journ\u00e9e seront offerts par l'entremise du OCFD \u00e0 tous les membres de la base et seront disponibles dans divers b\u00e2timents de la BFC Halifax et de la 12e Escadre Shearwater - comme les installations de conditionnement physique et de sports de la base, les CRFM, les magasins CANEX, D201, D200, WL7, S90, S120, et d'autres b\u00e2timents selon la demande.
