Du 29 ao\u00fbt au 18 septembre 2024, alors qu\u2019ils menaient des activit\u00e9s de vigilance aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de navires de l\u2019OTAN, les Navires canadiens de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Shawinigan et Charlottetown ont surveill\u00e9 des sous\u2011marins et des navires de surface russes.<\/p>\n

NCSM SHAWINIGAN<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u00c0 compter du 29 ao\u00fbt, le NCSM Shawinigan a surveill\u00e9 un sous-marin et un navire de surface russes dans la mer Baltique et la mer du Nord avant d\u2019en confier la responsabilit\u00e9 au Navire de Sa Majest\u00e9 (HMS) Iron Duke, de la Royal Navy, le 1er septembre. Le 17 septembre, le NCSM Charlottetown, navire amiral du 2e Groupe maritime permanent de l\u2019OTAN (SNMG2), a remplac\u00e9 l\u2019ESPS Cristobal Colon, de la Marine espagnole, qui fait \u00e9galement partie du SNMG2, dans les t\u00e2ches de surveillance, et a surveill\u00e9 les navires alors qu\u2019ils poursuivaient leur voyage dans l\u2019Est de la mer M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Les navires de la Marine royale canadienne d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Reassurance sont par\u00e9s pour un large \u00e9ventail d\u2019op\u00e9rations, comme celle-ci, qui a permis d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir une connaissance inestimable du domaine maritime, en plus d\u2019appuyer et de prot\u00e9ger les int\u00e9r\u00eats du Canada et des Alli\u00e9s. Le NCSM Shawinigan a rejoint le NCSM Glace Bay et les autres navires de l\u2019Alliance du 1er Groupe permanent OTAN de lutte contre les mines et poursuivra son important travail en Europe \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Capitaine de corvette Paul Morrison, commandant du NCSM Glace Bay et commandant de la force op\u00e9rationnelle maritime, force op\u00e9rationnelle maritime 24-03, op\u00e9ration Reassurance.<\/p>\n

Pendant cette p\u00e9riode, le NCSM Charlottetown a \u00e9galement men\u00e9 des activit\u00e9s de surveillance d\u2019un autre sous\u2011marin ainsi que de trois navires de surface de la Marine de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de Russie alors qu\u2019ils participaient \u00e0 l\u2019exercice Ocean 2024, un exercice russe de grande envergure.<\/p>\n

Le NCSM Shawinigan est actuellement d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 en Europe aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du NCSM Glace Bay dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Reassurance avec le 1er Groupe permanent OTAN de lutte contre les mines (SNMCMG1). Il travaille aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des navires alli\u00e9s de l\u2019OTAN pour \u00e9liminer en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9 les munitions historiques dans les eaux de la r\u00e9gion, en plus de participer aux activit\u00e9s de vigilance renforc\u00e9e de l\u2019OTAN.<\/p>\n

Le NCSM Charlottetown est actuellement d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Reassurance \u00e0 titre de navire amiral du SNMG2. Il travaille aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des navires alli\u00e9s de l\u2019OTAN pour soutenir la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 maritime dans la r\u00e9gion de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<\/p>\n
