Les deux premiers gros remorqueurs navals (GRN), les navires auxiliaires des Forces canadiennes (NAFC) Haro et Barkerville, sont arriv\u00e9s \u00e0 la base des Forces canadiennes (BFC) Esquimalt le 25 juillet.<\/p>\n

Les remorqueurs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9charg\u00e9s et envoy\u00e9s au chantier naval de Point Hope \u00e0 Victoria, o\u00f9 ils seront mis en \u00e9tat de fonctionnement, ce qui comprend le ravitaillement en carburant et le d\u00e9bridage des fen\u00eatres, entre autres pr\u00e9paratifs. La formation de familiarisation pour le personnel de la Direction des op\u00e9rations portuaires et des services d'urgence devait commencer le 19 ao\u00fbt et durer deux semaines.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ces nouveaux navires puissants font partie d'une flotte de quatre navires construits dans le cadre de la strat\u00e9gie nationale de construction navale du Canada.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gros remorqueur naval no 1 Haro<\/b><\/p>\n

Ce nom fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au d\u00e9troit de Haro, qui relie les d\u00e9troits de G\u00e9orgie et de Juan de Fuca, et qui est fr\u00e9quemment emprunt\u00e9 par les navires de la Marine royale du Canada qui se dirigent vers le nord depuis Esquimalt.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gros remorqueur naval no 2 Barkerville<\/b><\/p>\n

Ce nom rend hommage au remorqueur de classe Ville du m\u00eame nom, datant de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, qui a chavir\u00e9 et coul\u00e9 \u00e0 l'entr\u00e9e du port de Bedwell, le 17 d\u00e9cembre 1945, alors qu'il remorquait le navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Hespeler jusqu'\u00e0 son point d'amarrage.<\/p>\n
