Le navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Charlottetown, navire amiral du 2e groupe maritime permanent de l'OTAN (SNMG2), a escort\u00e9 le groupe amphibie de pr\u00e9paration Wasp, compos\u00e9 du navire am\u00e9ricain (USS) Wasp, de l'USS New York, de l'USS Oak Hill et de la 24e unit\u00e9 exp\u00e9ditionnaire de la marine, lors de sa travers\u00e9e de la mer M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Pour l'\u00e9quipage du NCSM Charlottetown, ces activit\u00e9s sont des occasions pr\u00e9cieuses de d\u00e9velopper et de maintenir l'\u00e9tat de pr\u00e9paration, d'acqu\u00e9rir des comp\u00e9tences et de coop\u00e9rer avec les Alli\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Pendant toute la dur\u00e9e de leur collaboration, les membres d'\u00e9quipage des deux navires ont men\u00e9 des op\u00e9rations de pont crois\u00e9 afin d'en apprendre davantage sur leurs capacit\u00e9s respectives. L'une de ces op\u00e9rations a permis au conseiller m\u00e9dical du SNMG2, le major Dave Gosselin, de voir de ses propres yeux les capacit\u00e9s m\u00e9dicales dont dispose l'\u00e9quipage de l'USS Wasp.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab L'ensemble du personnel m\u00e9dical de la clinique, et en particulier le capitaine de corvette Ike, le chien de l'installation exp\u00e9ditionnaire embarqu\u00e9e du navire, m'ont r\u00e9serv\u00e9 un accueil chaleureux \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Maj Gosselin. \u00ab J'ai eu l'occasion de d\u00e9couvrir les capacit\u00e9s m\u00e9dicales et chirurgicales actuellement employ\u00e9es par l'USS Wasp. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le SNMG2 est pr\u00eat \u00e0 ex\u00e9cuter un large \u00e9ventail de t\u00e2ches assign\u00e9es par l'OTAN, y compris l'escorte d'unit\u00e9s de grande valeur, telles que le Wasp ARG.
