Pendant mes ann\u00e9es de formation, les Canadiens \u00e9taient fiers du maintien de la paix, mais nous reconnaissons tous que les Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC) doivent \u00eatre pr\u00eates au combat. Nous exer\u00e7ons le m\u00e9tier des armes et avons tous \u00e9t\u00e9 entra\u00een\u00e9s \u00e0 tirer avec un C7. M\u00eame si nous aspirons \u00e0 la paix, quel que soit notre m\u00e9tier, nous sommes entra\u00een\u00e9s \u00e0 prendre une arme et \u00e0 nous battre. \u00c0 une exception pr\u00e8s : les aum\u00f4niers. Nous ne sommes pas autoris\u00e9s \u00e0 porter des armes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Si les aum\u00f4niers ne sont pas autoris\u00e9s \u00e0 porter des armes, cela signifie-t-il que nous n'apportons rien au combat ? Au contraire, nous sommes l\u00e0 pour vous aider \u00e0 combattre. Je m'explique.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans la langue h\u00e9bra\u00efque, un mot est souvent traduit par \u00ab paix \u00bb, \u00e0 savoir shalom. Si \u00eatre en paix peut sembler une bonne chose, shalom est bien meilleur.<\/p>\n

On peut dire que mes deux motos sont en paix lorsqu'elles sont dans la remise. Elles sont en revanche dans un lieu de shalom lorsqu'elles sont sur la route et que toutes leurs pi\u00e8ces fonctionnent ensemble. La paix est souvent d\u00e9finie comme l'absence de conflit. Le shalom, quant \u00e0 lui, est la pr\u00e9sence de l'harmonie et de la compl\u00e9tude, des choses qui sont dans le meilleur \u00e9tat possible. Les motos sont faites pour \u00eatre conduites. Les bateaux sont faits pour naviguer. Les h\u00e9licopt\u00e8res sont faits pour \u00eatre pilot\u00e9s. La vie est faite pour \u00eatre v\u00e9cue. Un jour, nous reposerons en paix, mais en attendant, nous pouvons vivre dans le shalom.<\/p>\n

L'hiver dernier, l'une de mes motos a refus\u00e9 de d\u00e9marrer, malheureusement c'\u00e9tait celle avec les poign\u00e9es chauffantes. Le probl\u00e8me venait peut-\u00eatre d'une petite pi\u00e8ce, mais il suffit d'une pi\u00e8ce cass\u00e9e pour d\u00e9truire l'espoir du shalom.<\/p>\n

Il suffit d'un souci, d'une relation tendue, d'un conflit interpersonnel, d'un conflit int\u00e9rieur ou m\u00eame d'une pens\u00e9e pour d\u00e9truire notre shalom. Nous nous apercevons alors que nous ne sommes pas pr\u00eats \u00e0 nous pr\u00e9senter au travail. Nous ne sommes pas pr\u00eats \u00e0 nous battre. Nous ne sommes peut-\u00eatre pas pr\u00eats \u00e0 nous pr\u00e9senter \u00e0 notre famille et \u00e0 nos amis.<\/p>\n

La famille, les amis, les coll\u00e8gues de travail et les communaut\u00e9s religieuses peuvent \u00eatre de grandes sources de soutien pour nous aider \u00e0 vivre dans le shalom. Malheureusement, la famille, les amis, les coll\u00e8gues et les communaut\u00e9s religieuses peuvent aussi \u00eatre la raison pour laquelle nous avons besoin de soutien. Parfois, vous avez besoin de quelqu'un d'autre. Nous, les aum\u00f4niers, sommes l\u00e0 pour vous. Nous pouvons \u00eatre ce quelqu'un d'autre. Vous pouvez parler de tout et de rien. Nous vous \u00e9couterons. Tu peux te d\u00e9fouler, tu peux pleurer. Nous ne vous jugerons pas. Vous pouvez parler de vos croyances et de la fa\u00e7on dont elles vous aident, ou de la fa\u00e7on dont elles ne semblent plus avoir de sens. Oui, nous pouvons aussi participer \u00e0 ces discussions religieuses, mais nous n'y sommes pas oblig\u00e9s. Nous sommes simplement l\u00e0 pour vous, pour vous aider \u00e0 trouver la paix, pour vous aider \u00e0 vous appuyer sur le shalom.<\/p>\n

Les guerres sont mieux men\u00e9es \u00e0 partir d'un lieu de paix. L'un des r\u00f4les de l'aum\u00f4nier est de vous aider \u00e0 trouver la paix, afin que vous soyez pr\u00eat \u00e0 travailler, pr\u00eat \u00e0 combattre et pr\u00eat \u00e0 \u00eatre pleinement pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 la maison.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
