\u00ab C'est un \u00e9v\u00e9nement peu fr\u00e9quent \u00bb, a fait remarquer le contre-amiral (Cam)Christopher Robinson, commandant des forces maritimes du Pacifique (MARPAC), \u00ab d'avoir l'honneur de promouvoir quelqu'un au grade de commodore au sein de notre formation. \u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Cam Robinson s'adressait \u00e0 un petit groupe de membres du groupe d'instruction de la Marine (GIM), \u00e0 la famille et aux amis du capitaine de vaisseau (Capv) Matthew Coates, r\u00e9unis dans la salle d'armes de Work Point \u00e0 l'occasion de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de promotion du 17 juin.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Capv Coates a occup\u00e9 le poste de commandant de la GIM de 2021 jusqu'\u00e0 il y a quelques semaines, date \u00e0 laquelle il a quitt\u00e9 le commandement pour se pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 sa prochaine affectation en tant que commandant du 2e groupe maritime permanent de l'OTAN.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Cam Robinson a f\u00e9licit\u00e9 le Capv Coates pour ses qualit\u00e9s professionnelles et a soulign\u00e9 que son nouveau grade refl\u00e9tait une responsabilit\u00e9 accrue en mati\u00e8re de leadership institutionnel.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Comme l\u2019a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l\u2019amiral il y a quelques instants, j\u2019entreprends peut-\u00eatre un emploi de r\u00eave, mais il y a un prix \u00e0 payer, \u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Capv Coates. Il a cit\u00e9 plusieurs personnes par leur nom et a conclu en exprimant sa gratitude pour le soutien de sa famille. \u00ab Comme l'a dit l'amiral il y a quelques instants, je vais peut-\u00eatre acc\u00e9der \u00e0 un emploi de r\u00eave, mais cela a un co\u00fbt \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9 en regardant ses deux fils, Nathaniel et Jackson, et son \u00e9pouse Meghan. \u00ab Votre compr\u00e9hension, votre r\u00e9silience et votre amour sont \u00e0 la base de tout ce que je fais. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Le Cam Robinson a invit\u00e9 les deux gar\u00e7ons \u00e0 s'avancer pour installer le nouveau grade de leur p\u00e8re et, apr\u00e8s quelques instants d'essais et d'erreurs avec la m\u00e9canique des \u00e9paulettes, l'ancien capitaine de vaisseau est devenu officiellement le Commodore Matthew Coates.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bas\u00e9e en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, la SNMG2 est l'une des quatre forces navales permanentes qui op\u00e8rent sous le commandement maritime alli\u00e9 de l'OTAN. La flotte de l'Atlantique a r\u00e9cemment vu partir de Halifax le navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Charlottetown, qui rejoindra et assumera les fonctions de navire amiral de la SNMG2 dans le cadre de l'op\u00e9ration R\u00e9assurance au cours des six prochains mois.
