Le NCSM Charlottetown se joindra au SNMG2 en tant que navire amiral<\/h3>\n

Le Canada s'appr\u00eate \u00e0 nouveau \u00e0 prendre le commandement d'un groupe op\u00e9rationnel de l'OTAN en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e. Le navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Charlottetown a quitt\u00e9 Halifax le 15 juin pour rejoindre ses alli\u00e9s dans cette r\u00e9gion, dans le cadre d'un d\u00e9ploiement de six mois pour l'op\u00e9ration R\u00e9assurance.<\/p>\n

Cela signifie que le Charlottetown assumera bient\u00f4t les fonctions de navire amiral du 2e groupe maritime permanent de l'OTAN (SNMG2), servant de quartier g\u00e9n\u00e9ral flottant au personnel de commandement qui travaillera sous les ordres du Commodore (Cmdre) canadien Matthew Coates.<\/p>\n

D'ici la fin pr\u00e9vue du d\u00e9ploiement en d\u00e9cembre, le Charlottetown et son CH-148 Cyclone embarqu\u00e9 participeront \u00e0 des exercices internationaux, \u00e0 des entra\u00eenements, \u00e0 des d\u00e9monstrations et \u00e0 d'autres t\u00e2ches assign\u00e9es par l'OTAN, dans le but de soutenir la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et la stabilit\u00e9 en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Ce d\u00e9ploiement marque le dixi\u00e8me anniversaire de la participation des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC) \u00e0 l'op\u00e9ration Reassurance, qui soutient les mesures d'assurance, de dissuasion et de d\u00e9fense de l'OTAN en Europe centrale et de l'Est.
