Les arri\u00e9r\u00e9s des travaux d\u2019entretien sont devenus monnaie courante pour les techniciens de v\u00e9hicules des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes. Une liste croissante de demandes, des v\u00e9hicules sophistiqu\u00e9s et des ressources r\u00e9duites font qu\u2019il est de plus en plus difficile de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins op\u00e9rationnels croissants.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

N\u00e9anmoins, l\u2019adjudant-ma\u00eetre (Adjum) Chester Muise, Sergent-major \u2013 \u00c9quipement technique de la 5e Division du Canada, a voulu trouver une solution pour att\u00e9nuer le stress croissant au sein de la profession.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Une grande partie de mon travail consiste \u00e0 rencontrer fr\u00e9quemment les gestionnaires des ateliers pour discuter des difficult\u00e9s qu\u2019ils \u00e9prouvent \u00bb, explique l\u2019Adjum Muise. \u00ab Nous devons nous mettre au d\u00e9fi d\u2019\u00eatre plus efficaces dans tous les domaines, sans compromettre la s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Nous devons donc nous demander s\u2019il existe une meilleure fa\u00e7on de faire \u00bb.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

En consultant ses coll\u00e8gues, l\u2019Adjum Muise s\u2019est rendu compte que les inspections des v\u00e9hicules militaires \u00e9taient plus longues, plus approfondies et prenaient plus de temps que les normes civiles. Il a constat\u00e9 qu\u2019il fallait effectuer des inspections militaires tous les 12 mois, alors que la norme de la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse est de 24 mois. \u00c9tant donn\u00e9 qu\u2019il faut environ quatre heures pour effectuer une inspection moyenne, l\u2019Adjum Muise savait qu\u2019il y avait une meilleure fa\u00e7on de proc\u00e9der. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Si on pouvait faire les inspections des v\u00e9hicules militaires tous les 24 mois, cela lib\u00e9rerait environ 11 000 heures pour les techniciens de v\u00e9hicules l\u2019\u00e9chelle de l\u2019Arm\u00e9e canadienne \u00bb, estime l\u2019Adjum Muise. \u00ab Ce changement permettrait aux techniciens de se concentrer sur l\u2019\u00e9quipement prioritaire, ce qui se traduirait par une augmentation globale de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 et de la productivit\u00e9 \u00bb. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Il n\u2019a pas fallu longtemps pour que l\u2019Adjum Muise re\u00e7oive une mention \u00e9logieuse du commandant de l\u2019Arm\u00e9e canadienne pour sa contribution. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab La modernisation est un \u00e9tat d\u2019esprit \u00bb, a affirm\u00e9 le brigadier-g\u00e9n\u00e9ral St\u00e9phane Masson, commandant de la 5e Division du Canada. \u00ab L\u2019approche avant-gardiste et la prise en charge de l\u2019adjudant-ma\u00eetre Muise auront une incidence importante sur la 5e Division du Canada, car nos gestionnaires de la maintenance modernisent leurs processus de travail afin d\u2019\u00e9liminer les contraintes auxquelles ils faisaient face auparavant \u00bb.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab La collaboration et des voies de communication ouvertes entre les militaires de tous grades permettent d\u2019\u00e9laborer des solutions qui viennent de la base \u00bb, a fait valoir l\u2019Adjum Muise. \u00ab Nous devons nous mettre au d\u00e9fi de ne pas nous contenter de signaler les probl\u00e8mes, mais de proposer activement des solutions.
