Les \u00e9loges n'ont pas manqu\u00e9 pour la Matelot de 1re classe (Mat 1) Raven Night, qui a re\u00e7u le titre de marin du trimestre pour son b\u00e9n\u00e9volat et son travail acharn\u00e9, tant \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur qu'\u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur de l'uniforme.<\/p>\n

La Mat 1 Night est une r\u00e9serviste naval qui sert actuellement \u00e0 bord du Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) St. John's en tant qu'op\u00e9ratrice d'information de combat naval. C'est un r\u00f4le dans lequel elle excelle, selon son superviseur, le ma\u00eetre de 2e classe Jeremy Cox. Il a lou\u00e9 sa \u00ab connaissance approfondie \u00bb de nombreux r\u00f4les \u00e0 bord des navires et la cr\u00e9ation de plusieurs modules de formation du CCFL.<\/p>\n

Le commandant de la flotte, le Commodore (Cmdre) Trevor Maclean, et le premier ma\u00eetre de 1re classe Cavel Shebib, premier ma\u00eetre de la flotte, ont remis le prix au quartier g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des Forces maritimes de l'Atlantique le 30 avril.<\/p>\n

Au cours de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie, le Cmdre Maclean a lu un compte rendu du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat de la Mat 1 Night au sein de la Marine royale du Canada (MRC) et de la collectivit\u00e9 locale. En uniforme, elle est impliqu\u00e9e dans l\u2019Organisation consultative de la fiert\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense de l\u2019Atlantique (OCFEDA) et de l\u2019Organisation consultative des femmes de la D\u00e9fense (OCFD), elle aide dans un caf\u00e9 d'anciens combattants et elle est \u00e9galement le fer de lance de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement caritatif annuel du NCSM St. John's Run the Rock, une course \u00e0 relais \u00e0 St. John's (Terre-Neuve), en partenariat avec la fondation R\u00eaves d\u2019enfants Canada<\/p>\n

Pendant son temps libre, la Mat 1 Night fait du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat aupr\u00e8s de la SPCA et de Feed Nova Scotia. Elle explique que ces deux organisations lui tiennent \u00e0 c\u0153ur ; en tant que dresseuse de chiens certifi\u00e9e, elle accorde une grande importance au bien-\u00eatre des animaux, et elle ajoute que l'exp\u00e9rience de l'ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire v\u00e9cue par sa propre famille pendant son enfance a aliment\u00e9 son engagement \u00e0 rendre la pareille.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Elle affirme que ses nombreux engagements ne l'\u00e9puisent pas, car ils lui procurent de la joie.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lorsqu'elle choisit les causes \u00e0 soutenir, la Mat 1 Night dit r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re dont elle peut avoir le plus grand impact positif. Elle dit croire au pouvoir du travail d'\u00e9quipe et de l'empathie dans la cr\u00e9ation de changements positifs.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

S'adressant \u00e0 la Mat 1 Night et \u00e0 une assembl\u00e9e d'amis et de camarades de bord, le Cmdre Maclean a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l'engagement de la Mat 1 Night envers le service dans tous les aspects de sa vie \u00e9tait un mod\u00e8le pour les membres des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
