Deux fr\u00e8res capitaines d\u2019armes encadrent les prochains dirigeants<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Comptant collectivement 52\u202fann\u00e9es de service, Joe et Dan Dagenais sont l\u2019exemple parfait de la solidarit\u00e9 familiale et du d\u00e9vouement dont ils font preuve en tant que premiers ma\u00eetres de 1re\u202fclasse (capitaines d\u2019armes) au sein de la Marine royale canadienne (MRC).<\/p>\n

Le fr\u00e8re cadet, Joe, a commenc\u00e9 son service en 1994. Motiv\u00e9 par son d\u00e9sir de quitter sa ville natale dans les prairies, le souhait de Joe de vivre une aventure sur l\u2019eau s\u2019est r\u00e9alis\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u202f\u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, je retournais chez moi pour des visites parce que, ironiquement, j\u2019\u00e9tais affect\u00e9 au NCSM Regina\u202f\u00bb, raconte Joe \u00e0 propos de ses premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es dans la MRC. \u00ab\u202fJe suis rentr\u00e9 chez moi pour le jour du Souvenir, et mon fr\u00e8re m\u2019a vu avec mon uniforme et il n\u2019arr\u00eatait pas de l\u2019essayer. Je lui ai dit\u202f:\u202f\"Si tu veux t\u2019enr\u00f4ler, tu n\u2019as qu\u2019\u00e0 te joindre \u00e0 nous. Tu ne rajeunis pas!\"\u202f\u00bb<\/p>\n

Joe et Dan Dagenais sont des capitaines d\u2019armes de m\u00e9tier et ont tous deux \u00e9t\u00e9 promus au grade de premier ma\u00eetre de 1re classe (PM 1). Joe sert sur le NCSM Regina sur la c\u00f4te Ouest, tandis que Dan fait partie du Groupe de transition des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse.<\/p>\n

Leur amour mutuel, leur d\u00e9vouement et leur patriotisme envers le pays sont \u00e0 l\u2019origine de leur entr\u00e9e dans la MRC, mais ce sont les nouvelles g\u00e9n\u00e9rations enthousiastes qui les y ont maintenus pendant la plus grande partie de leur vie d\u2019adulte.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u202fActuellement, mon travail consiste \u00e0 encadrer les prochains dirigeants de la Marine\u202f\u00bb, d\u00e9clare le PM 1 Joe Dagenais. \u00ab\u202fJe veux passer le flambeau avec un certain respect, de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 ce que la Marine soit entre de bonnes mains une fois que je serai parti.\u202f\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u202fCe que j\u2019ai toujours appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 le plus, c\u2019est de travailler avec les plus jeunes\u202f\u00bb, affirme le PM\u202f1 Dan Dagenais au sujet de l\u2019aspect qu\u2019il pr\u00e9f\u00e8re dans son travail au sein de la MRC. \u00ab\u202fNous essayons de guider l\u2019organisation et de la rendre meilleure qu\u2019elle ne l\u2019\u00e9tait \u00e0 notre arriv\u00e9e.\u202f\u00bb<\/p>\n

Les deux fr\u00e8res ont pass\u00e9 leur entretien \u00e0 se lancer des piques. Joe a clairement indiqu\u00e9 que malgr\u00e9 son jeune \u00e2ge, il compte huit ann\u00e9es de service de plus que son fr\u00e8re Dan; et qu\u2019il est donc \u00ab\u202fbeaucoup plus sympathique\u202f\u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u202fSi vous parlez \u00e0 mon fr\u00e8re, assurez-vous d\u2019utiliser des mots courts\u202f\u00bb, plaisante Dan.<\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 leurs plaisanteries, les deux fr\u00e8res ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l\u2019exp\u00e9rience la plus m\u00e9morable qu\u2019ils ont v\u00e9cu dans la Marine est lorsqu\u2019ils ont eu la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00eatre d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s ensemble. Lors d\u2019un entra\u00eenement en mer sur des c\u00f4tes oppos\u00e9es, le NCSM Halifax a eu besoin d\u2019un capitaine d\u2019armes pour remplacer un membre non disponible.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u202fL\u2019une des exp\u00e9riences les plus m\u00e9morables, et je ne veux pas qu\u2019il le sache, a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019occasion de naviguer avec mon fr\u00e8re lors d\u2019un entra\u00eenement en mer\u202f\u00bb, raconte Joe. \u00ab\u202fNous avons eu la chance de naviguer jusqu\u2019aux Bermudes [...] et nous avons pass\u00e9 du temps ensemble en Angleterre.\u202f\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u202fC\u2019\u00e9tait g\u00e9nial de pouvoir naviguer avec mon fr\u00e8re\u202f\u00bb, d\u00e9clare Dan \u00e0 propos de cette exp\u00e9rience. \u00ab\u202fCe fut une exp\u00e9rience incroyable, que nous ne pourrons plus jamais revivre en raison de nos grades. Pour nous, ce fut donc une exp\u00e9rience inoubliable.\u202f\u00bb<\/p>\n

Aucun des deux fr\u00e8res PM 1 ne semble vouloir s\u2019arr\u00eater de sit\u00f4t. Ils se sentent tous deux extr\u00eamement fiers de ce qu\u2019ils ont accompli jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce jour et pensent qu\u2019ils ont encore beaucoup \u00e0 offrir \u00e0 la MRC.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
