L\u2019AVIATEUR GREGORY COLE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><b>\u00ab Il est difficile de s'ennuyer de la maison quand on a la maison avec soi \u00bb<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Des fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs se d\u00e9ploient ensemble dans le cadre de l'op\u00e9ration Horizon avec le NCSM Montr\u00e9al<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Par Nathan Stone,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019\u00e9quipe du Trident<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Deux fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs marins sont d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s ensemble \u00e0 bord du Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) Montr\u00e9al, qui quitte Halifax \u00e0 destination de l'Indo-Pacifique, en partie gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l'enthousiasme d'une grande s\u0153ur pour la Marine.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Le NCSM Montr\u00e9al a appareill\u00e9 le dimanche 14 avril pour l'op\u00e9ration Horizon. La matelot de 1re classe (Mat 1) Crystal Cleveland et son jeune fr\u00e8re, le matelot de 3e classe (Mat 3) Bertram Cleveland, sont tous deux \u00e0 bord pour leur premi\u00e8re navigation ensemble.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 2019, la Mat 1 Cleveland \u00e9tait sur le point de rejoindre la GRC. Elle a dit qu'elle voulait une nouvelle carri\u00e8re qui lui permettrait de redonner \u00e0 sa communaut\u00e9 et elle pensait que la police \u00e9tait le meilleur choix, mais une conversation opportune l'a amen\u00e9e sur un chemin diff\u00e9rent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deux de mes amis sont policiers ; ils m'ont dit : \u00ab Pourquoi servir votre ville quand vous pouvez servir votre pays? \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cette question l'a interpell\u00e9e. Peu de temps apr\u00e8s, elle a entam\u00e9 le processus de recrutement de la Marine canadienne (MRC) et s'est rapidement retrouv\u00e9e \u00e0 sa premi\u00e8re affectation au NCSM Toronto. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toronto<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ayant cr\u00e9\u00e9 un groupe de discussion sur les m\u00e9dias sociaux avec sa famille pour rester en contact pendant qu'elle \u00e9tait en mer, il est rapidement devenu \u00e9vident pour ses proches que la Mat 1 Cleveland adorait naviguer avec la Marine. Elle a post\u00e9 des vid\u00e9os et des photos tout au long de son d\u00e9ploiement et ces images ont captiv\u00e9 l'imagination de son fr\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Encourag\u00e9 par l'enthousiasme contagieux de sa s\u0153ur, le Mat 3 Cleveland a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire lui aussi carri\u00e8re dans la MRC. Son recrutement a pris plus de temps que celui de sa s\u0153ur, car il avait des d\u00e9fis \u00e0 relever. Il dit avoir perdu 60 kilos, obtenu un dipl\u00f4me d'\u00e9tudes secondaires et mis de l'ordre dans ses finances avant de s'enr\u00f4ler. Une fois sa formation termin\u00e9e, il s'appr\u00eate \u00e0 effectuer son premier d\u00e9ploiement de six mois.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le Mat 3 Cleveland estime que l'engagement dans la marine en vaut la peine et que l'exp\u00e9rience a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 la hauteur de ses esp\u00e9rances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab Il y a beaucoup de journ\u00e9es difficiles, mais nous avons l'occasion de voyager dans le monde entier et de servir notre pays. Cela l'emporte sur tout. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Ce n'est pas un hasard si les deux fr\u00e8res se sont retrouv\u00e9s ensemble sur le NCSM Montr\u00e9al. La Mat 1 Cleveland a fait savoir qu'elle aimerait beaucoup avoir l'occasion d'\u00eatre d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e avec son fr\u00e8re, et le lobbying a fini par porter ses fruits.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Non seulement elle a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 faire monter le Mat 3 Cleveland \u00e0 bord, mais les deux hommes travaillent d\u00e9sormais ensemble au quotidien, la Mat 1 Cleveland \u00e9tant op\u00e9rateur de capteurs \u00e9lectroniques navals (NESOP) et son fr\u00e8re op\u00e9rateur de sonar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab Je suis \u00e0 b\u00e2bord de la salle d'op\u00e9ration, il est \u00e0 tribord, nous sommes tous les deux op\u00e9rateurs \u00bb, a-t-elle d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les deux fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs ont exprim\u00e9 leur enthousiasme pour le d\u00e9ploiement. Ils se r\u00e9jouissent de travailler c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te, de se soutenir mutuellement et d'explorer ensemble les ports \u00e9trangers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab Il est difficile de s'ennuyer de la maison quand on a la maison avec soi, \u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la Mat 1 Cleveland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le fils cadet de la Mat 1 Cleveland le Mat 3 Brody Jennings, qu'elle a \u00e9galement convaincu de rejoindre la MRC, attend le retour des fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs \u00e0 l'automne. Il sert actuellement \u00e0 terre \u00e0 Halifax.
