L' <\/span>Tactical Games<\/span><\/a> sont une s\u00e9rie de comp\u00e9titions organis\u00e9es aux \u00c9tats-Unis qui associent la condition physique et l'adresse au tir dans le cadre d'un d\u00e9fi intense d'endurance physique et mentale - un d\u00e9fi qu'un officier local a pleinement relev\u00e9 au cours des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le capitaine (Capt) Matthew Elliot, juge-avocat adjoint aupr\u00e8s de l'officier du juge-avocat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral (JAG) de la r\u00e9gion Atlantique, est r\u00e9cemment revenu d'une comp\u00e9tition r\u00e9gionale \u00e0 Holt, en Floride. Selon lui, les jeux repr\u00e9sentent un test passionnant de ses capacit\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n

En participant \u00e0 huit \u00e9preuves les 23 et 24 mars, le Capt Elliot s'est class\u00e9 35e sur 149 concurrents, et 8e sur 22 dans la cat\u00e9gorie des hommes ma\u00eetres \u00e2g\u00e9s de 40 \u00e0 49 ans. C'\u00e9tait la sixi\u00e8me fois qu'il participait \u00e0 une comp\u00e9tition des Tactical Games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Il a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des \u00e9preuves qui impliquaient toutes du tir sur cible, et toutes, sauf une, comportaient une composante physique telle que le transport de sacs de sable sur des obstacles ou la course \u00e0 pied sur une certaine distance avec un sac \u00e0 dos charg\u00e9. Le capitaine Elliot explique que chaque comp\u00e9tition utilise le m\u00eame \u00e9quipement, mais que les \u00e9preuves individuelles changent constamment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Capt Elliot affirme qu'une bonne condition physique est son principal avantage en comp\u00e9tition, et qu'il aime les d\u00e9fis physiques intenses tels que l'escalade de corde et le levage de charges lourdes. Cependant, \u00eatre en forme n'est que la moiti\u00e9 de la bataille, et les scores favorisent fortement les segments de tir sur cible, de sorte que le Capt Elliot dit qu'il travaille \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer son adresse au tir pour les \u00e9v\u00e9nements \u00e0 venir.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Capt Elliot a attir\u00e9 l'attention en parlant et en publiant ses exploits lors des Tactical Games, et dit que d'autres lui demandent souvent comment ils peuvent commencer \u00e0 participer \u00e0 des comp\u00e9titions. Il a \u00e9galement attir\u00e9 un sponsor et un fan d\u00e9vou\u00e9, son p\u00e8re, qui voyage pour le soutenir et l'encourager pendant les comp\u00e9titions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aux championnats r\u00e9gionaux de Floride, le Capt Elliot \u00e9tait le seul Canadien \u00e0 participer.
