De grands changements \u00e0 venir pour le 50e anniversaire du mus\u00e9e naval<\/b><\/h3>\n

Le Mus\u00e9e naval d'Halifax se pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 une ann\u00e9e de renouveau alors qu'il c\u00e9l\u00e8bre ce mois-ci son 50e anniversaire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ayant ouvert ses portes pour la premi\u00e8re fois le 26 mars 1974, le mus\u00e9e est devenu un monument \u00e0 l'histoire de la Marine royale du Canada et \u00e0 ceux qui ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 son pass\u00e9 historique. Install\u00e9 \u00e0 l'origine au troisi\u00e8me \u00e9tage de l'\u00e9difice de l'Amiraut\u00e9, sur le terrain de la base des Forces canadiennes d'Halifax, le mus\u00e9e s'est ensuite agrandi pour occuper l'ensemble du b\u00e2timent. Aujourd'hui, le mus\u00e9e se pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 d'importantes r\u00e9novations, tant \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur qu'\u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur, afin de se tourner vers l'avenir.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Un rafra\u00eechissement ext\u00e9rieur pr\u00e9vu pour le troisi\u00e8me trimestre 2024 permettra de restaurer la fa\u00e7ade de l'\u00e9difice de l'Amiraut\u00e9. Parall\u00e8lement, le personnel travaillera \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur pour r\u00e9organiser la collection.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous profitons de la construction pour donner le coup d'envoi \u00e0 une r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation compl\u00e8te du mus\u00e9e \u00bb, explique Jennifer Denty, directrice du mus\u00e9e.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Denty explique que le mus\u00e9e s'efforce d'identifier les histoires les plus importantes \u00e0 mettre en lumi\u00e8re et la meilleure fa\u00e7on d'aider les visiteurs \u00e0 comprendre leur importance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le personnel du mus\u00e9e cherche \u00e9galement \u00e0 combler les lacunes de la collection actuelle pendant les r\u00e9novations. La liste des nouveaut\u00e9s potentielles comprend un espace pour les enfants avec des activit\u00e9s pratiques et une exposition sur la guerre de Cor\u00e9e.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Richard Sanderson travaille au mus\u00e9e naval depuis des ann\u00e9es, en tant que directeur du mus\u00e9e de 2010 \u00e0 2019, et aujourd'hui en tant que chercheur. Selon lui, le prochain rafra\u00eechissement est l'occasion d'\u00e9valuer les expositions existantes tandis que l'\u00e9quipe r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit \u00e0 des ajouts.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Chacune des zones du mus\u00e9e fera l'objet d'une r\u00e9habilitation physique, puis de nouvelles expositions y seront int\u00e9gr\u00e9es, de sorte que nous chercherons \u00e0 savoir quelles sont les histoires que nous voulons raconter et comment. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Il se passe \u00e9galement beaucoup de choses autour du mus\u00e9e avant que les travaux de r\u00e9novation ne commencent. En mai, le mus\u00e9e s'associe aux biblioth\u00e8ques publiques de Halifax pour un projet de sensibilisation de la communaut\u00e9 - une exposition sur l'histoire des femmes dans la Marine royale canadienne est pr\u00eat\u00e9e \u00e0 la biblioth\u00e8que centrale d' Halifax pour que le public puisse la voir tout au long du mois.<\/span><\/p>\n

En juin, le mus\u00e9e organisera une f\u00eate d'anniversaire pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer officiellement son 50e anniversaire. La f\u00eate est organis\u00e9e non seulement pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer le pass\u00e9, mais aussi pour se tourner vers l'avenir. La date de la f\u00eate n'a pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 fix\u00e9e, mais Denty estime que l'organisation de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement en juin co\u00efncide avec le d\u00e9but de la saison d'activit\u00e9 du mus\u00e9e et que le temps estival devrait encourager les gens \u00e0 y participer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous esp\u00e9rons rendre l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement aussi accessible que possible. \u00bb\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La c\u00e9l\u00e9bration des 50 ans du mus\u00e9e ne concerne pas seulement le mus\u00e9e et sa collection d'artefacts, mais aussi le personnel et les b\u00e9n\u00e9voles qui ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 fa\u00e7onner le mus\u00e9e, explique Denty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
