Portant des chandails arborant le logo du centenaire de l\u2019Aviation royale canadienne (ARC) (ARC), les Mooseheads de Halifax de la Ligue de hockey junior Maritimes Qu\u00e9bec ont organis\u00e9 une soir\u00e9e de reconnaissance du MDN le samedi 20 janvier. Plus de 9 000 spectateurs ont assist\u00e9 au match, qui opposait les Mooseheads aux Saguen\u00e9ens de Chicoutimi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Une garde du drapeau compos\u00e9e de membres des FAC a accompagn\u00e9 le Capitaine de vaisseau Andy MacKenzie, commandant de la BFC Halifax, et le Colonel David Holmes, commandant de la 12e Escadre Shearwater, sur la glace pour la mise au jeu. Le Capv MacKenzie a remerci\u00e9 les Mooseheads d'avoir organis\u00e9 la soir\u00e9e de reconnaissance du MDN et a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab Nous appr\u00e9cions vraiment tout le soutien des Mooseheads et de l'ensemble de la communaut\u00e9. \u00bb Le Col Holmes a \u00e9galement remerci\u00e9 les Mooseheads et a soulign\u00e9 que le 1er avril de cette ann\u00e9e marquera le 100e anniversaire de l'ARC.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s l'hymne national, chant\u00e9 par le ma\u00eetre de 1re classe Brad Davidge, le match a commenc\u00e9. \u00c0 la fin de la premi\u00e8re p\u00e9riode, les Saguen\u00e9ens avaient marqu\u00e9 un but tandis que les Mooseheads n'avaient pas marqu\u00e9. Les deux \u00e9quipes ont fait match nul 2-2 jusqu'\u00e0 la fin de la troisi\u00e8me p\u00e9riode, lorsque Lou-F\u00e9lix Denis a marqu\u00e9 le but d\u00e9cisif pour les Mooseheads, donnant \u00e0 l'\u00e9quipe une victoire de 3-2 sur les Saguen\u00e9ens, sous les cris d'approbation de la foule. Cette victoire a mis fin \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie de six d\u00e9faites \u00e0 domicile pour les Mooseheads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Avant et apr\u00e8s le match et pendant les entractes, les supporters ont achet\u00e9 des billets de tombola pour avoir une chance de gagner des maillots port\u00e9s lors du match et portant le logo de l'ARC, et les membres de la FAC se sont port\u00e9s volontaires pour vendre des billets tout au long de la soir\u00e9e. Apr\u00e8s le match, d'autres maillots ont \u00e9t\u00e9 vendus aux ench\u00e8res en ligne. Il s'agit d'une collecte de fonds pour le jardin comm\u00e9moratif des anciens combattants de Camp Hill, organis\u00e9e par la division des services minist\u00e9riels des Programmes de soutien du personnel (PSP) de la BFC Halifax. Les ench\u00e8res se sont poursuivies jusqu'au 29 janvier au soir et ont permis de recueillir plus de 25 000 $, selon Missy Sonier, gestionnaire des services minist\u00e9riels des PSP d'Halifax. Cette somme s'ajoute aux 240 000 $ d\u00e9j\u00e0 recueillis lors des \u00e9ditions pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes de la Soir\u00e9e de reconnaissance du MDN depuis 2008.<\/span><\/p>\n
