Apr\u00e8s avoir abandonn\u00e9 le commandement du Navire canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 (NCSM) St.\nJohn's le 16 janvier, le Capitaine de fr\u00e9gate Jon Nicholson a eu environ 24 heures pour\nd\u00e9compresser avant de prendre son prochain commandement, celui de l'\u00e9quipage du NCSM\nHarry DeWolf.\n\u00ab C'est un grand honneur d'avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi pour un autre commandement et d'avoir le grand\nprivil\u00e8ge d'apprendre \u00e0 conna\u00eetre une toute nouvelle \u00e9quipe \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Capf Nicholson lors\nd'une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de passation de commandement \u00e0 bord du Harry DeWolf, le 17 janvier.<\/p>\n

Le temps qu'il a pass\u00e9 au NCSM St. John\u2019s a \u00e9t\u00e9 consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la p\u00e9riode de r\u00e9activation du\nnavire, pr\u00e9parant l'\u00e9quipage \u00e0 entamer son programme de pr\u00e9paration par \u00e9tapes.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C'est une nouvelle classe de navire pour moi et un tout nouveau d\u00e9fi que j'ai h\u00e2te de relever\n\u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

C'est pourquoi, a-t-il ajout\u00e9, il s'appuiera sur le leadership et l'exp\u00e9rience de son \u00e9quipage pour\nse mettre au diapason et le guider dans les mois \u00e0 venir.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Capf Nicholson succ\u00e8de au commandant sortant le Capf Guillaume C\u00f4t\u00e9, qui a pass\u00e9 18\nmois \u00e0 ce poste. Bien qu'au d\u00e9but de son commandement, le navire ait d\u00fb subir des r\u00e9parations\ninattendues en raison de probl\u00e8mes m\u00e9caniques, le Capf C\u00f4t\u00e9 a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que la derni\u00e8re partie\nde son affectation a \u00e9t\u00e9 marqu\u00e9e par des faits marquants de sa carri\u00e8re. Le navire a effectu\u00e9 le\nvoyage le plus au nord jamais r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par la flotte NPEA lors de l'op\u00e9ration Nanook 2023, et a\nmen\u00e9 d'importantes activit\u00e9s de sensibilisation du public lors du r\u00e9cent d\u00e9ploiement dans les\nGrands Lacs, qui a malheureusement \u00e9t\u00e9 interrompu en raison d'une \u00e9pid\u00e9mie de COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n
