Marin du trimestre : nouvelles r\u00e9compenses pour le Mat 1 Duffy<\/b><\/h3>\n

Le Matelot de 1re classe ( Mat 1 ) Derek Duffy quittera bient\u00f4t le NCSM Ville de Qu\u00e9bec pour suivre son prochain cours de technologie, et si l'on se fie \u00e0 ses r\u00e9centes accolades, il laissera de grandes chaussures \u00e0 remplir au sein du d\u00e9partement de g\u00e9nie des syst\u00e8mes maritimes (GSM) du navire.<\/p>\n

Le Mat 1 Duffy a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 marin du trimestre des Forces maritimes de l'Atlantique (FMAR(A)) le 5 d\u00e9cembre. Le commandant de la flotte, le Commodore Trevor MacLean, et le Premier ma\u00eetre de 1re classe Cavel Shebib, premier ma\u00eetre de la flotte, se sont rendus au mess des jeunes officiers de la Ville de Qu\u00e9bec pour lui remettre le prix.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Il est important de reconna\u00eetre des marins comme le Mat 1 Duffy - il s'agit simplement de le remercier pour son travail acharn\u00e9 et pour le leadership dont il a fait preuve au sein de l'unit\u00e9 \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Cmdre MacLean.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Il a fait preuve de comp\u00e9tences remarquables en tant que technicien. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

C'est la deuxi\u00e8me fois au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es que le Mat 1 Duffy re\u00e7oit cette r\u00e9compense, et son exp\u00e9rience dans le domaine du chauffage, de la ventilation et de la climatisation avant de rejoindre les Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le dans les deux cas. Ses sup\u00e9rieurs ont salu\u00e9 le travail qu'il a accompli pour faire fonctionner les syst\u00e8mes de r\u00e9frig\u00e9ration du navire en temps voulu, ce qui a permis de certifier les services de restauration et d'am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de vie \u00e0 bord. Il a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 f\u00e9licit\u00e9 pour sa connaissance approfondie des syst\u00e8mes auxiliaires et sa volont\u00e9 de partager ces connaissances avec ses pairs, ce qui a permis de compl\u00e9ter les programmes de formation et de faire progresser le d\u00e9partement GSM de la Ville de Qu\u00e9bec. <\/span>Ville de Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s<\/span><\/i> MSE department.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Mat 1 Duffy vient d'une famille o\u00f9 quatre g\u00e9n\u00e9rations ont servi dans la marine, et son p\u00e8re Brian, qui travaille maintenant dans un r\u00f4le civil au sein du MDN, \u00e9tait \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sent lors de la pr\u00e9sentation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Mat 1 Duffy a remerci\u00e9 ses camarades de bord et ses superviseurs pour cette reconnaissance et a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu'il esp\u00e9rait \u00eatre de retour \u00e0 Ville de Qu\u00e9bec <\/span>en<\/span><\/i> 2025 pour le prochain grand d\u00e9ploiement pr\u00e9vu du navire.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab C'est agr\u00e9able de recevoir ce prix et je l'appr\u00e9cie beaucoup, mais tous ceux qui travaillent sous mes ordres sur le navire ont \u00e9t\u00e9 formidables et ils font en sorte qu'il est facile d'\u00eatre ici tous les jours, et ce n'est pas moi qui le dis.
