Vous voil\u00e0 donc un Bluenose!<\/b><\/h3>\n

Peu d\u2019entre nous avons visit\u00e9 le Nord du Canada, et encore moins navigueront sur l\u2019oc\u00e9an Arctique. Seuls les plus aventureux de nous tenteraient un tel voyage et oseraient d\u00e9ranger Neptune!<\/span><\/p>\n

Pourtant, quatre membres de la Force sous-marine canadienne ont r\u00e9cemment eu l\u2019occasion de le faire en empruntant le passage du Nord-Ouest dans le cadre d\u2019une pollinisation crois\u00e9e \u00e0 bord du sous-marin am\u00e9ricain San Juan. Le Ltv Benjamin Courchene, le Mat 1 Kyle Beecker, le Mat 2 Van Long Nguyen et le Mat 2 Miguel Wilson se sont joints au San Juan pour effectuer une travers\u00e9e d\u2019un mois de Groton, au Connecticut, \u00e0 Bremerton, \u00e0 Washington, dans le but d\u2019approfondir leurs connaissances des op\u00e9rations sous-marines.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous avons tellement appris \u00bb, d\u00e9clare le Mat 2 Van Long Nguyen. \u00ab Je suis tr\u00e8s heureux d\u2019avoir eu la chance de participer \u00e0 cette exp\u00e9dition. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Comme tous les sous-mariniers, l\u2019\u00e9quipage et les officiers de l\u2019USS San Juan sont form\u00e9s aux op\u00e9rations sous-marines et en connaissent toutes les complexit\u00e9s. Ajoutez \u00e0 cela les conditions de l\u2019Arctique et les op\u00e9rations en eaux peu profondes et les enjeux deviennent encore plus importants.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab M\u00eame pendant les portions du voyage les plus \u00e9prouvantes et en eau peu profonde, la devise du navigateur du San Juan, le Lt Daniel Stikles \"trop de pr\u00e9paration et aucune surprise\" s\u2019est v\u00e9rifi\u00e9e \u00bb, d\u00e9clare le Ltv Courchene. \u00bb \u00ab La mer \u00e9tait agr\u00e9ablement calme sous la glace, et nous avons effectu\u00e9 la travers\u00e9e sans incident. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Ce passage s\u2019inscrivait dans le cadre de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Nanook-Tuuglik 2023, l\u2019exercice annuel de souverainet\u00e9 du Canada. L\u2019\u00e9dition de cette ann\u00e9e comprenait des ressources de la Marine royale canadienne et de la marine am\u00e9ricaine, de m\u00eame que de l\u2019Aviation royale canadienne.<\/span><\/p>\n

Au cours du voyage a eu lieu un bapt\u00eame de la ligne du cercle arctique, semblable \u00e0 celui auquel assistent les marins depuis des si\u00e8cles dans la Marine fran\u00e7aise et la Royal Navy. Cette c\u00e9r\u00e9monie, dont les origines remontent \u00e0 l\u2019Antiquit\u00e9, est cens\u00e9e apaiser Neptune avant de s\u2019approcher de son royaume. De telles c\u00e9r\u00e9monies sont \u00e9galement organis\u00e9es lors du franchissement de la ligne de changement de date, de l\u2019\u00c9quateur et du cercle antarctique. Une fois la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie termin\u00e9e, le \u00ab marin d\u2019eau douce \u00bb rena\u00eet en tant que \u00ab vieux loup de mer \u00bb et m\u00e9rite le titre de \u00ab Bluenose \u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n
